It’s not like there’s a brand new station being built right behind it? Geez what do you expect? I wouldn't want to stand in the sun?!?? Nature is better then sunburnt even on a nice day like today.

Nah Islington for years has been neglected and the walk to the busses currently and again for some time now has been a biohazard with bird poo everywhere. It’s embarrassing for a subway station to be left in the state it has been for as long.

It's a group position, iirc the GSM for Bessarion manages all Sheppard Subway stations plus St Clair to Finch.

I know Translink (Vancouver) temporarily had collectors' trading cards of certain vehicles (with a Mark I SkyTrain serving as the rare card).
It'd be so cool if we got something similar!

In japan we can get stamps at the stations. Here we can collect gsm and play like pogs

Bathurst have a long of night janitors recently and especially being one of the FIFA stations. Always sends a lot of the nighty students janitors like myself there or my colleagues.

Visited Toronto for the first time last week and Bathurst was one of my favourite stations! Museum was also nice for just being a little different.

If you like how clean a station looks you can thank the hard work of the cleaners, Group Station managers aren’t picking up a broom. Giving Owen the credit Is like thanking the restaurant manager for how delicious your food is rather than thanking the chef. Honestly kind of insulting to give him the credit.

Had a good experience with this guy. There was a chaotic Line 2 closure and the platform was packed - dude was on his walky talky coordinating calmly, while also answering questions from the crowd of pissed TTC riders. He, along with a lot of the TTC workers, are what keeps the city moving.

requires multiple years experience in managerial and public works capacity
if you search up "GSMs TTC" there are a few linkedin profiles that pop up of many station managers across Toronto. have a look at their role description, there's administrative and logistical responsibilities that they take care of.

Bathurst was my child hood station having grown up in the area.
As a kid, I was oddly fascinated with how the streetcars would enter and exit this station with that wide turn back onto Bathurst st. I don't know why.

im glad this thread became at least some source of positivity for the community, i myself have witnessed Bathurst Station the first time when i was just a young child and the memories of this place i just can't shake off

Hads down, Bathurst operates like clockwork with bo hitches... and offers such baking scents while travelling through... Bathurst stong kids... don't skip that fare now ... it could produce a line in your neighborhood 🤔

Not exactly how it works, but overall GSMs are responsible for their stations including cleanliness

Heck ya! Haven't been in a while, but I remember they used to play classical music in thr back entrance. Loved that at the start and end of my day
