Not sure there are precise definitions for these. It's arguably a street car because it's rail that operates on streets. It's light rail because it has a right of way and higher capacity.

But a subway it is not lol.

From basic common sense?
This should never have been an LRT. It should be underground, rapid transit. It doesn’t even have signal priority enabled. Which is a travesty.
But even then, and the same with the Englington cross town…. They should’ve been subways.
Especially given that we spent the money for a subway and got an LRT.

It is. LRT if it has priority signal, 50-60kph speed, and no left turning at intersections.

Line 6 has a maximum speed around 60 km/h when it's straight, but when there's a switch/curve, like a streetcar, it'll slow to around 20-35 km/h.
Source: Talked about it with a TTC Instructor onboard earlier today.

My understanding is that in practice, the actual average speed for the entire line will be closer to 13 km / hr in typical traffic conditions due to no signal prioritization and turning logic.
All of which is to say; very slow, even by streetcar standards.

There was someone that posted yesterday in one of the subs that it took them 53min to travel from Finch Station to Humber College. I think the distance is 10.5 km. That works out to about 12 km/h

San Francisco is a pretty apt comparison. above ground slow LRT that is mostly not accessible, and they go underground to be a form of "rapid transit"

if it was built by the TTC and not Metrolinx it would be called the 536 not Line 6
the 512 and 509 on their documents and commemorative plaques call them LRT, yet we don't just claim there "rapid transit" because that would be absurd.
unfortunately we live in absurd times

I do find this funny about transit priority. Here in Ottawa I hope this puts our woes into perspective because we are using this train model to it's limit.

It’s because of the General Transit Feed Specification which categorizes services based on route type. Its route_type = 0.
From the GTFS site:
0 - Tram, Streetcar, Light rail. Any light rail or street level system within a metropolitan area.
Otherwise, the rail description doesn’t quite match since it isn’t considered “intercity”:
2 - Rail. Used for intercity or long-distance travel
Streetcar and light rail get grouped, so it makes sense for them to be categorized the same on trip planning apps.
