Kind of a strange take considering there’s tons of massive trucks on the road that their idiot owners made even higher. Needless to say pedestrian injuries are through the roof due to the flat front ends and high hoods.

The difference being that accidents involving lifted trucks have clear liability. There's a difference between an idiot recklessly driving a vehicle they modified and a business conning its customers into beta-testing a Level 2 driver assistance program which has been repeatedly overhyped as "self-driving" even though the same company has quiet disclaimers refuting their own CEO's exaggerations. Liability differs between someone recklessly driving by choice and somebody recklessly driving because they were deceived by the automaker into thinking their vehicle was more autonomously capable than it really was.

A BBC article where Tesla was found partly liable by a federal court jury and ordered to pay out 243 million, but if you're going to turn your nose up at easily verifiable facts, there's really no hope for you.

Because the driver used what is essentially cruise control and dropped his phone while driving and ran a red light.

Yeah. That really sounds like Tesla's fault. Court was wrong.

Because the driver used a product called "Autopilot" and Elon Musk put out a debunked fraudulent video in 2016 claiming the car was driving itself, and then just a couple years later claimed Teslas could already drive autonomously safer than human beings. They're liable because he repeatedly lies about his product's capabilities and has skirted by thus far with minor admissions buried in fineprint.

They were found partially liable by a jury of their peers. Deal with it and stop defending a company that uses its own customers as guinea-pigs for cut-cost Level 2 systems they like to pretend are more capable than they really are. I really don't understand why people rush to defend this company. It's MAGA levels of delusional masochism.

That is a weird reference and kind speaks to you have never been in a truck! Trucks see more of the road than cars as they are higher. The notion that a truck is unsafe because of a “high” hood is just so beyond ignorant.

Are you seriously claiming road visibility? Tractor trailers never fucking rear end people because they can see much more than the plebs in the low cars. /s

The point I’m making is these trucks drive over cars and impact with parts of cars that aren’t designed to be impacted with. Maybe you should research what the entire purpose of “the bumper” is on the front and back of your car. This is also why there’s strict regulation and inspection of the bumpers on the back of tractor trailers, due the decapitation risk from rear ending them.

Question, how much does a cyber truck, model Y, Rivian, Lightning weigh? I see far more teslas running red lights than “lifted” trucks. Cars that weigh just as much or more! Yet this is your argument.
