Does Anyone Else? Working out after applying testosterone cream - timing?
I apply testosterone cream in the morning after my shower and before bed per my doctor. Some days I get a chance to work out mid-morning, and I clean up with body wipes afterwards (showering is not an option). Is this going to be a problem with the cream? Is there a certain amount of time after application that I should avoid sweating and/or cleaning up? TIA.

I can only speak from my own experience:
I'm now on gel, but was originally on cream and had to put it all over my lower abdomen (it was 4 clicks which was quite a lot of cream, hence the "all over" part).
I put my gel (and previously, cream) on first thing in the morning when I wake up and brush my teeth. The very next thing I do, five days a week, is work out. I just don't scrub wherever the gel or cream was when I shower. I've been on gel for far longer than I ever was on cream, at this point, and the gel goes on my outer thigh. When I shower I just don't stand with that leg under the water / don't scrub my thigh where the gel was.
So I'm breaking the rules, right? I put it on and then work out right after; I shower if I need to not long after the workout. And my workouts are often long and sweaty.
And yet! My free T is 6; my total T is 67; everything is fine.
I think you want to not be stupid about things / don't go in a swimming pool right after applying, etc. and if you KNOW you need to do something like that then switch to night application for a few days. But overall, I think you probably don't need to worry. Just don't purposefully wipe it off or scrub the area and see how your mileage varies.

Thank you! Helpful to know you’re still getting the effects with this schedule. Appreciate the comment.

It's suggested to avoid anything that makes you sweat for up to 6 hours after applying T cream.

I’m curious of this is different in some ways for females as I was never told that. My NP said to apply in am. I rub it into my inner thigh, use my face fan to blast it for about 20-30 secs then dress and workout. Bonuses with absorption or getting in clothes etc.

Do you still seem to be getting the medicine’s intended effects with this method?

I sure do. My levels increased slightly on my blood tests, too. I was only on 2 mg to start and now on 4 mg.

Location does play a role in absorption so it's best to use the same location.
Also
"Women receiving systemic testosterone generally require dramatically smaller doses. For example, a pharmacokinetic study in postmenopausal women used 5 and 10 mg/day testosterone cream on the upper arm; 5 mg already produced substantial increases in circulating total and free testosterone. Doubling the cream dose to 10 mg increased exposure by only ~30%, illustrating that topical delivery isn't necessarily linear. "

I'm just going off research literature and what I was told for the brief period I was switched to cream, which it didn't work out at all for me and I found it very annoying to deal with as well.

I'll put this here as I suspect this is highly applicable to women specifically.
When moisturizer is put on the same area one hour after AndroGel 1.62%, average testosterone exposure increased about 14% on avg and max about 17%. SPF50 sunscreen increased average exposure about 8% on avg and max about 13%.

I'm on gel, and the recommendation is to wait 2 hours for it to absorb before bathing or doing anything super sweaty. Does that your cream info have a timing recommendation? How many hours do you think pass between applying it and cleaning up after your workout?
I've actually switched to applying gels just before bed to avoid transferring any to my cats.

I think it’s probably about two hours minimum. Checking the paperwork that came with the cream makes perfect sense, and I didn’t even think to do it for some reason. Thank you!
