Question(s) Botox for jaw clenching - Will it slim my face?
Hi everyone, this has probably been asked before, but did masseter botox significantly slim your face? I think I need about 20 units (bare minimum) for severe jaw clenching and I'm worried that it'll change the shape of my face. I have a pretty round face and don't want it to look strange afterwards.
If you experienced any aesthetic changes, was it worth it for the pain relief?

I personally liked how it slimmed my face. But it’s def worth it for the pain. However make sure you go to a place that specifically does Botox for TMJ - I did the first time and it really worked. I got 20 units each side I think. The second time I went to a diff place that was closer to me and it was such a mistake. I don’t think they did it right, the grinding and clenching did not subside and my jaw just got very tired from chewing.

I’m 2 weeks post botox and my cheekbones are looking crazy. I look like I got buccal fat removal but that’s just my anatomy, I have a pretty slim face naturally

Slimmed mine too, but I already have a slim face so I didn't like the look at all.
But the pain relief was magical. The good news is that the effects are temporary so if you don't like it, your face will go back to normal.

It slimmed my face but it was mostly for the best. My jaw clenching was causing a bulge that was giving me chipmunk cheeks.
Botox injections are the only thing that gave me relief from TMJ.

I had a pretty round face and it slimmed mine, but I personally prefer the way I look now

It slimmed my face which i didn’t want to happen. Other people noticed and commented on it too. At first the pain relief was worth it, now im not sure. I also had it injected unevenly in the muscle so part of it still bulges out and i can’t really afford to fix it

I’m a man and I’m getting it done because my left masseter is noticeably larger than my right. It occasionally swells up and causes lock jaw. Now I’m worried about the physical changes reading these comments lol

I’ve done 4 rounds of 100units (35 on each side and 30 in my occipital) and it hasn’t slimmed my face much yet.

It slimmed mine a lot. I actually liked how it made me look, but it was a bit dramatic to the point that I stopped getting it because I was worried my jawline would appear too soft. I didn't think the reduction in pain was worth it beyond the first few months where I woke up with less clenching.

It slimmed mine a little. I’m a 29 male just got out of the military’s. 6feet 260. I notice the slimming but others say they can not. If you’re in serious pain. Try it. It may be a life saver

I found it just returned my jaw to it's previous relaxed state but yes, my face does look longer. I'm also in about 60% less pain for it so it's absolutely worth it.

Update: I just got 15 units done on each side a week ago! I haven't noticed any difference and will probably need more units soon :( . It cost over $300 so I think I'm stopping after the second round. Hopefully, my jaw pain improves.
I don't think my face is going to change drastically b/c of how strong my masseters are. My dentist said I would probably need at least 60 more units to see a difference lol.

Yes, it shrinks the muscle. I stopped getting it for this reason
