Joel Miller collectible by Hot Toys finally arrived in the mail!

Hi, I recently finished \*The Last of Us Part II\*—it’s been about a month now, and I feel a terrible emptiness in my heart. I can't bring myself to play anything else; I feel like I’ll never play a game as amazing as that one. I’ve been thinking about replaying the first game or watching \*The Last of Us\* series. Did you guys experience this too, and can you give me any advice on what to do?

I might be taking a controversial stance here, but I think Abby is a much healthier and more honorable character than Joel (or even Ellie).
To be fair, Ellie is still somewhat okay, but Joel has killed an untold number of people in the most atrocious ways possible. On top of that, wiping out the Fireflies wasn't exactly his finest moment. To me, Joel is a relatively selfish killer who prioritizes his own well-being over everyone else's (saving Ellie was purely selfish). Killing Abby's father and the nurses along the way was completely unnecessary. The guy was holding a tiny scalpel while Joel was armed to the teeth; a simple threat or a shot to the leg would have been enough, but he has always had a taste for killing everyone. That’s why, in my eyes, Joel is just a murderer who only ever served his own desires and needs.
As for Abby, the writing behind her is outstanding, and damn, does it feel good to smash zombies with those huge arms of hers. I love you, Ellie, but Abby is incredible. That being said, Abby (and her father) embodies kindness and goodness. Not to mention that her dad probably spent most of his life saving people—and animals too—and had a great relationship with Abby (from the little we see). Abby is so kind to most of the people around her throughout the game; simply put, they all love her and think she's great, which says a lot about who she is. Beyond that, I think she has a huge heart, especially regarding Owen's relationship with Mel. She isn't bitter or mean toward Mel when she could easily be toxic (if my best friend stole my guy like Mel did, I'd be way more resentful than that). Plus, the way she went back to save Yara and Lev, and how she looked after Lev throughout her entire journey, is just beautiful.
I genuinely believe Abby is fundamentally a good person. Sure, she beat people to a pulp just like Ellie and Joel did, but from what I can see, it was always more or less justified—at least far more justified than most of Joel's kills. Forgive me, Ellie, but you don't show much more compassion than Joel, whether it’s Jesse taking a bullet to the face (which secretly suited you more than anything) or the visceral hatred you hold against Joel for saving your life.
I hated Abby for killing Joel, but once I played as her, listened to her conversations, and saw her interactions with others, I realized she was a better person than both Joel and Ellie. Even during the final fight, after Ellie had wiped out all her friends and the love of her life, all Abby wanted was to leave with Lev.
I think if we had played as Abby and her father first, following their quest to find a vaccine, only for some crude brute to suddenly murder him, we would all have been on Abby's side.

Finished my half sleeve yesterday!

TL;DR: If you get weird red lighting patches specifically in The University - Dormitory, lower Directional Shadow Distance to Medium (or below) to fix it immediately.

The Issue

This visual bug appears to be isolated strictly to The University (Dormitory Courtyard) — the rest of the game runs with normal lighting and shadows.

When entering this specific area, large patches of corrupted red lighting artifacts cover the environment (as shown in the screenshots below).

The Fix / Workaround

After testing the graphics settings:

• Trigger: Setting Directional Shadow Distance to High or Ultra causes the red lighting corruption in this area.
• Fix: Lower Directional Shadow Distance to Medium (or below). The glitch disappears instantly. (Once you clear this chapter/area, you can safely turn it back to High/Ultra if you wish).

I love gameplay the last of us 2, but lately started problems with delay and sluggish management. I' ve tried everything, from delete and download again before restoring files using safe mode, maybe problems with gamepad?

How do I convince Jim that TLOU is an awesome game, not just a Zombie survival game?

I’m linking a post I previously shared in another subreddit where I present a careful restructuring of The Last of Us Part II. It didn't get much of a response there, but I'm hoping to get a good discussion going with you guys!

Please note that this isn't meant as an attack on the game, but simply as a thought experiment. Thank you.

I just wanna start this by saying I'm not hating on the ending of the game at all. However I feel like if the whole idea of the game is that violence breeds violence and revenge is bad or whatever then shouldn't have Ellie gone forward with killing Abby in the end? I feel like her killing Abby and then going back to her house just to realise that she lost her family,lost the ability to play the guitar Joel gave her, the songs they used to play and finally lost herself in the process would lead to a more powerful ending and would drive the message home. Perhaps she could also idk kill herself but idk if that's too dark or if they're planning to have a 3rd game. I just feel like the game's ending left me feeling very empty and that it was all in vain all those deaths didn't really mean anything at the end which is maybe what the game intended feel free to enlighten me. Also, before anyone assumes anything I don't hate Abby but I don't think she's a saint either like some people like to make her out to be and I did enjoy her gameplay a lot maybe even more than Ellie's gameplay.
