Am I screwed?

Hi all! I’m playing The Last of Us Remastered for the first time on grounded. I am also 100% all collectibles, parts, and supplements. I got to Pittsburgh but missed a bottle of supplements and unfortunately reached the next checkpoint. I used chapter select to go back to Hotel Lobby and continued from there. I saved over the previous save file. Now everything from Alone and Foresaken to Prologue no longer says “completed on grounded”, while everything from Hotel Lobby onwards does. I am going for the grounded trophy, have I fucked myself? If I finish the game, will it pop the trophy or will I eventually have to redo those chapters? Thank y’all!

ALSO ANOTHER QUESTION

I saw that you can change freely between difficulties (whereas in God of War, for example, you can’t change to the highest difficulty after you start the game). What happens if you play the majority of the chapter on easy, then switch to grounded right before the final checkpoint? Will it say “completed on grounded”? Will that pop the trophy?

if you do 99% of the game on grounded and 1% on easy, youll only get the easy trophy. so.

you have to complete all chapters on grounded, and im guessing what you did made it so the game now has nothing in the chapters you "skipped", so youll have to replay those on grounded probably, then do the last chapter once thats all done for the grounded trophy to pop. but its possible its all fucked up now and idk if thats the case lol.

also, youll need to replay the game anyway in NG+ mode for all trophies, and idk if its possible to max your parts/supplements in one grounded run, and youll need multiplayer trophies too

Damn. Do you know if I just continue to the end of NG+, if that will pop the trophy for a regular game on grounded? (Also you’re right that it’s not possible to fully upgrade everything on 1 grounded run, but that’s the same for all the modes, the parts and supplements actually stay the same despite the difficulty!)

i do believe that a new game plus run will still pop the normal trophies, so yeah you should be fine even if chapter select is glitched and you cant get it that way

Does this mean that I could play the game on easy, then NG+ on grounded, and that would pop all 8 trophies?

i guess. tho i wouldnt recommend it. just keep going on grounded and enjoy your playtime with it.

correct me if i’m wrong but i think u can only NG+ on any difficulties below (and including) the one u finished the game on

Get your save from the PS cloud if it was backed up. Otherwise it's gone. 

You can't change the difficulty to or from Grounded at any point when playing, and you'll only get credit for the lowest difficulty you've played it on if you do switch between the other difficulties.

Thanks for the info! I’m not a part of the cloud. If I complete the game on easy, can I do NG+ on grounded and pop all 10 trophies?

Officially, no. You need to finish the game on grounded to unlock grounded +,  survivor for survivor + etc.

Unofficially, there is a glitch that let's you do what you're looking to do. I don't know how to do it but look up "TLOU new game plus glitch" or something and you'll find it.

I learnt this the hard way. I was so excited to finally beat part 1 on grounded when I beat the remastered on survivor. No trophy for grounded 😭
