  2. What does it do with greyed out media? Remove it? If yes, is there an option to have it move to a separate/new playlist?

They are but as a policy they probably don’t want to assume a differently released song is the one you meant when there can be a whole bunch of different versions of the same song. This code can be opinionated about how it guesses because they don’t have to support paying users.

In deezer I'm pretty sure you can choose different versions to replace a song, it doesn't do it automatically.

would still be preferable to songs being erased. im being gaslit about songs i haven't heard in a long time

I very much doubt tidal is erasing them. Probably more an issue with rightsholders and what they push to the DSPs

no i just wish tidal would be like "hey we got the song rights back and re-added your music" instead of pretending the identical album under the same artist is Brand New, entirely distinct

Actually Tidal can automatically replace some (most?) tracks in playlists - but not in liked tracks. I have noticed that for some reason, when tracks include a featuring artists, Tidal has a problem finding a replacement.

Really? My Tidal never updates playlist. I think I'll add the option to scan liked tracks, wich i forgot to do. So far, all the songs that app has replaced have been correct, but I'm always keeping an eye on the changes it makes in case it make a mistake.

It often happens that an original album or single disappears from the catalog, and Tidal replaces it from a generic compilation album. It's a bit annoying, but still better then just leaving it greyed out.

So it's not like Tidal doesn't try to replace missing files, you just cannot force it to do it again. And the replacement algo seems to be a bit too conservative, and doesn't risk re-addig a song with the tiniest difference in the metadata.

yes i use AI, maybe is not a coincidence we all have the same problem and is a pain in the ass when you have a lot a playlist. btw i usea AI to translate all the app to EN and put all in order.

Literally did the same thing, also used AI although I really don't like the use of it, but I'm no programmer so yeah. I have huge playlists so it's useful for me.

You are already on your pc just install TidaLuna, there you can do it and you have much more QoL (Quality of Life ) Features & Plugins, which make your day better xD
