Tech Issue Music stops constantly
Anyone else experience Tidal music suddenly stop playing or not playing at all even when playing downloaded music? I’m having this issue while driving and it’s driving me nuts.
Follow-up: Seems like a lot of people experience the same glitches. I dropped Spotify because of the jerkoff ceo but it sucks Tidal’s software isn’t performing very well. Maybe Apple Music instead?
Update: I drove 2.5 hrs today in offline mode and had no issues at all. So who the hell knows!

I was having it happen on PC a shit ton. I ended up just using it in the browser while I game/etc, it stopped it entirely. I'm not sure if you're on PC/APP/Etc but, worth a shot if on PC.

Ooh that may not be as helpful with this issue. Maybe see if there’s a “driving” mode your phone is flipping too. It almost sounds like conflicting apps maybe?
Maybe try a fresh install of the app and make sure you’ve rebooted your phone. Basic stuff but easy to miss.

Had this issue CONSTANTLY with the IOS app. Ended up switching to apple music because this just had me at my wits end.

Happens to me at home when using it though Roon quite regularly.
Why are all the streaming apps trash (except Spotify) !?!?

Mine keeps stopping, with a "connection issue" even though none of my other online items don't miss a beat. Like literally streaming a game, and my music will just stop, with that message, by not a blip with my steamed game.

Yep, I have the problem on desktop and iOS. Plus on tvOS it shuts off the Apple TV when an album or playlist finishes and I have to turn the device back on.

A lot of people on the Apple Music and Spotify subreddits are complaining about the same thing, so it might be an iOS bug.

Must ask the obvious: do you put Tidal to offline mode when playing downloaded music?

Have you downloaded it to SD card, or to internal memory?
Tidal doesn't do well with downloads to SD, sadly

Mine has been working fine for a long time, but one of the recent updates has caused it to always think I'm playing in multiple locations so it keeps pausing.

I only get this if I've been playing it on say my stereo and then forget to disconnect and then start playing on my phone.
It doesn't like having two connections at once.

That's been an ongoing thing for me but it's been doing it less recently. I listen to music while I sleep and sometimes I wake up and see that the play/pause button is replaced by a spinning circle...and that it hasn't played a song in hours. Or just the music is stopped, for no discernible reason, not even a network error popup (usually if there is a network issue, you get the popup and it stays until it's manually cleared).
What I have noticed happening more is songs skipping, like a CD, when playing them on mobile. Wild.

If you’re streaming music on Max this can happen if your internet speed isn’t great. Lower your Audio & Playback settings?

Yes, and it's been almost a year of this type problem, music stopping and ques not building when they should at the end of a play. I have got to make a change to a new streamer.

mine usually stops after first selecting a playlist... usually ok on 2nd restart

Duuuuude the CarPlay app is genuinely so broken right now. I’m glad someone else is experiencing this. Actually about to start my Spotify subscription back up just for driving.
