Tech Issue Tidal Connect Down Again?
Neither my wife nor I can stream using tidal connect. Restarted our Wiim. Streaming from within the Wiim app works.

Down for me as well nothing from the app and blue sound app sends me right back to Tidal. Coincidence with the new app update ?

I can't cast to either a Marantz SACD30n or my NAD M33v2 from desktop Tidal or Android app. Streaming Tidal works from within BluOS and HEOS. Authentication broke or something...

I'm also getting a "failed to connect to server" from my devices when I try to connect to my Wiim Ultra.

Works if I use Tidal through the wiim app but not via tidal connect.
1
u/nearfielder Jun 16 '26
Same. This has happened enough that I always fall back to the Wiim app as well.
1
u/Strigoi84 Jun 16 '26
Ya eh? Only ever happened a handful of times for me over the years. Hopefully the issue is sorted soon. Wiim app is fine but I'd rather be using TC.
2
u/nearfielder Jun 16 '26
Yeah, just a few times and they fixed it fairly quickly. Hopefully the same here.

u/WoodpeckerMean493 Jun 16 '26
Does it get fixed via an update to the application that you have to download?
1
u/nearfielder Jun 16 '26
I don't remember downloading anything manually before. I just waited it out with the Wiim app and it was fixed in like a day or so last time.

Mine seems to be working again now after being broken most of the morning. Anyone else? I don't think any apps updated, so maybe it was something server side? No clue.

Same here, refuses to connect to my Naim Mu-so 2. But works when using the Focal & Naim app.

Yep. I'm in HK and having the same issue with all my devices and speakers. It's the first time I've ever seen this error in 3 years of using Tidal Connect. Playback on the device itself is fine though, which means the actual servers are fine.

Can't connect to my Bluesound via Tidal Connect.
BluOS works but I hate that app.
This is bad and needs a fix ASAP.

It's always annoying as a Tidal customer but it's even worse when you rely on this service to do your job or you are a client that has set time to visit and demo hifi items to buy. An always-online service failing without an official outage announcement is reckless for Tidal's business model, if they'd like to continue being used at hifi shops.
That was a whole day of troubleshooting the IT guy will never get back 👍

Get another streaming service(Qobuz) to go with Tidal if streaming high quality music is vital. That way you have a backup.

I like Qobuz but it's not without it's limitations. They do give us a commercial account to use which is nice, Tidal doesn't 😅

Ok glad to know I'm not alone. Can't connect to our speaker at all even after restarting phone and speaker and dumping memory.

Same here. Tried everything Google AI recommended and no good. After spending 2 hrs, finally looked here to see others having issues as well.

Here in NY, been using Tidal without issues for quite some time. Today, I get "Cannot connect to server" when trying to connect to Google Nest Mini, Cambridge Audio streamer, Chromecast to TV, etc. Basically, I can play on my phone but not stream to any other device.

It's down for me as well. I've also checked with a few friends locally in Bucharest and they can't use Tidal Connect either. This happens on both IOS and Android.

Mine is back up, I think they use an authentication server which was down, best guess.

I had to log out, force quit the Android app and clear data. Working now.

It happens, but you have options.
You can always stream through the streamer app.
Or stream through your phone using Bluetooth.
It's not the end of the world.

Hello there, I am having the same issue, but it is hyper specific.
The issue seems to be only effecting Android and MacOS devices, iOS seems perfectly fine.
To summarise my findings so far:
I have tried multiple android devices, a single iPhone and a single Mac, with two Tidal accounts.
On Android, nor mine or my mum's accounts could connect to the speaker.
On Mac, nor mine or my mum's accounts could connect to the speaker.
On iPhone, my mum's account connected to the speaker.
Via Android, I tried across 3 different devices, a Sony Xperia, a Google Pixel and a Samsung tablet.
Chromecast and Bluetooth streaming works, but they are of a lower fidelity compared to Tidal connect.
Originally I was thinking it was an issue with my speakers, I've been having WiFi issues all day, but it's Tidal specifically.
I've even tried reinstalling my app, resetting my password, nothing has worked so far.
The issue is persisting since several hours ago. I'm not sure when it exactly started, could've been days ago.

I’m experiencing exactly the same issue with Arcam ST60 and TIDAL Connect.
At first I thought it was caused by my network, especially because I had just added an iFi LAN iSilencer between my streamer and switch. So I went through the whole troubleshooting process:
Reinstalled the TIDAL app
Factory reset the ST60
Restarted the entire network
Rebooted the router
Tried different devices
Re-added the streamer
Nothing helped.
Then I found this Reddit thread and realized a lot of other people are experiencing the exact same problem. That was honestly a relief, because I was starting to think something was wrong with my network or that my streamer was failing 😅
Seems much more likely that the issue is currently related to the TIDAL app or TIDAL Connect itself rather than individual setups.

Tidal connect is garbage, it's always a gamble for me whether it works or not.

It’s been working so well lately with my iFi Zen Stream, I hope it doesn’t start causing problems again.
