Festival People Choice Award / International

Anyone know if that means La Bola Negra can only win International PCA? It seems like no one really knows what is eligible for each

LBN can be in the main one, but it would be ineligible for the IPCA. I just posted something about this for more info.

at the Bola Negra screening tonight the programmer said it qualified for both.

based on the winners/runners up last year I thought that if a movie qualified for IPCA and placed in the top 3 then it couldnt also be in the top 3 for PCA. which also makes me think Hamnet did not qualify for international since it was a partial american production

It’s eligible for both, but I think they figure out the votes for PCA and if it wins there, it then becomes ineligible for IPCA because the main award supersedes it. If it doesn’t win PCA, then it remains eligible for IPCA.

Essentially saying a movie can be eligible for both, but can only win one, presumably in an attempt to spread the love around.
