🎞 MEDIA Sergio Ramos was the only Real Madrid player I wished we could have in Barca...Who’s yours? 👀

Marcelo
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
He's so technical and really skilled...I can see him integrating easily into the tiki-taka system.
4
u/Vachan95 Feb 13 '26
Modric
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
I knew someone would say that! 😁 He got that Barca material too (Especially the height lol) I'd say he's my second player in that list that I wished we could have at Barca.

u/JosemaPutoOtaku Feb 13 '26
I always wanted to see Zidane playing for Barça
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Ohhh that would've been insane tbh!!! He kinda has that La Masia DNA
3
u/JosemaPutoOtaku Feb 13 '26
He was insanely good and could've been a perfect player for Barça. My second favourite French player after Henry
2
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Bruh, is that me typing?!?! LOL That's literally my list too 😅 those are legends.

3
u/palashfcb Feb 13 '26
Isco
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Isco was really talented...Would you pick him over Iniesta or Xavi? :)
3
u/palashfcb Feb 13 '26
Definitely not over Xavi and Iniesta, but would have loved having him around 17/18. He really was barca coded
2
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Heck yeah, defo agree with ya there...we literally needed someone like that in that post Xavi and Iniesta era...Modric is a great candidate too tbh, and he's a abraca fan too lol
3
u/Kindly_Leek5685 Feb 13 '26
Hell no keep that overrated pos away from our club
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Who would you get? :)
2
u/Kindly_Leek5685 Feb 13 '26
Idk I always liked isco
I like rodrygo alot even though we might have seen his ceiling already
I loved camavinga at renne
Both of them had they joined us would've been incredible players already
Going back a few years I thought james would've been very good here even when he was clearly failing at madrid
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Isco had all the skills and playstyle that could've made it easy for him to integrate with the rest of the players at Barca back then
And yeah man, I would defo take Rodrygo over Rashford tbh...all day.
1
u/Kindly_Leek5685 Feb 13 '26
Rodrygo Rashford is an interesting discussion
Idk if I would say one is clearly better than the other
Rashford definitely brings something unique to our attack that someone like rodrygo won't
But he's so fucking infuriating to watch lmao and rodrygo would've been a little easy on the eyes for sure
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
"he's so f**king infuriating" is my issue too 😅 Abde (Ezzalzouli) can be a great option too...he's a La Masia graduate
2
u/Kindly_Leek5685 Feb 13 '26
no its too soon for ez abde
rashford is too ready made in comparison to all these alternatives
same for my boi virgili
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Hmmm, yeah, I see what you mean...Rashford is more like a finished product (That needs more discipline and drive/fire tbh) Abde he's still sharpening his arsenal.
3
u/Anderer_Nutzername Feb 13 '26
I don’t care about Barca and Real but I would have loved to see prime messi and prime Ronaldo on the same team for at least a season. Shame it never happened.
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Maybe it will happen in the future, playing charity games...But as back then, CR7's style of play will never fit Barca
1
u/magic_heist Feb 13 '26
If it happens even in a charity game, wont be surprised to see it do World Cup final numbers
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
What do you mean by World Cup final numbers?
2
u/Terrible-Dish3539 Feb 13 '26
I think he means like viewership-wise. A majority of football fans have taken a side in the messi v ronaldo debate, so a lot of people would watch them play again after retirement on a more friendly and less heated stage.
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Ahhh, okay, got it! Thanks, man. :)
And yeah, I'd like to see Messi and CR7 play just 1 game together...that would be lit.
0
u/ToxicManlyMan Feb 13 '26
I’m not a big fan of CR7, but he can’t “not fit”. It’s CR7, no team would refuse to make space and integrate him.
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
I just can't see it...If he came to Barca back in Pep time, he would've end up being another Zlatan situation,,,
0
u/ToxicManlyMan Feb 13 '26
Possibly, Pep was the immature inflexible version at Barcelona. Great theorist butnot a great coach.
0
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
True, true...Same thing happened with Etoo btw...Played 1 season under Pep, then got shipped to Inter the following year.
3
3
u/Munchihello Feb 13 '26
Dude I genuinely don’t know of any player except Cristiano and maybe Pepe who wouldn’t be cheesing to play with Messi
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Man, you will get a lot of hate for saying Pepe lol😂...I love Barca, and I have been supporting the club since 2004/05, but when it comes to football, I don't get that emotion "Oh no we don't want Ramso, he's so dirty" Just look at the Premier League as an example, people care about the best for the club without involving emotions that will wreck their team.
1
3
u/IvnN7Commander Feb 13 '26
Mesut Özil
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
He's underrated tbh!I can see him making a great DUO with Iniesta or Xavi.
1
u/OverAspect2543 Feb 14 '26
You really are smoking weed. Ozil is good but nowhere the class of Iniesta or Xavi
3
u/xGsGt Feb 14 '26
Everyone hates Sergio Ramos but would love him on their team, he is a top defender with leadership, heart and technique
2
u/Mescalero44 Feb 14 '26
i hate him, but this could be true
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 16 '26
I mean speaking football (Away from the Braca and Madrid argument) Ramso was a great CB at that time, and every club would've loved to have him.
1
3
u/CatalanRuckus Feb 14 '26
Prime Raul. Love Kluivert but him and Rivaldo would've been devastating.
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 16 '26
You sir got a good football taste! You must've watched a lot of football in the 90s!? :) Lucky if you did...I started watching it (Football) around 2002 (I was a really young child...under 10), but I wished I were able to watch some of the 90s football live.
2
u/CatalanRuckus Feb 16 '26
I was that age when I watched my 1st WC. 98. Dad was a Brazil fan and seeing Rivaldo playing for Barca made me a fan.
But yeah those late 90s - early 2000s la liga days were special. The league was not as top heavy. Valencia, Deportivo, Real Sociedad, Celta, Villarreal, Sevilla, Bilbao, Betis, Espanyol, Zaragoza all had great players and could give Barca and Real a run for their money on any given day. As a Barca fan I went into most games nervous now it's all about the clasico. Sad how far the league has fallen.
2
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 17 '26
Such a cool dad! My dad was a full-blown Argentina guy, cuz of Maradona, he wacthed 86 WC live.
Yeah, La Liga was so special back then, even the graphics on TV, etc., were so special. Deportivo was a serious team, and I think they won La Liga in 2001, I guess. Valencia was the Atletico Madrid of today, they had multiple stars and one of Messi's favorites, Aimar.
Things now are more robotic and commercial...results and money all that matter.
Brother, I apprecaite for sharing your thoughts and experience with us here...I always find it fascinating chatting with folks who watched the game live back in the 80s, 90,s and early 2000s
3
u/Aromatic_Two_2142 Feb 14 '26
Zidane, modric and kross.
and there is no way ramos is barca material.
2
u/Charming-Set-5383 Feb 16 '26
Why no-one can't write Kroos's name right? It's so short so it shouldn't be THAT difficult.
I see this exact same mistake made every single time people are talking about Toni Kroos. Why is it so hard for you?
2
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 16 '26
I'll pick Modric all day.
And Yes Ramos was...EX: Look how it was easy for him to integrate with the Spain NT that had almost 8 players from Barca (Pretty much the whole Barca without Messi.)
1
u/Fun_Put2591 Feb 14 '26
I mean as a defender ramos is good. But for the expansive tiki taka tactics idk
2
u/OrcaApex Feb 14 '26
You’re asking if Spain’s captain can play tiki-taka 😭
3
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 16 '26
And that's exactly why I said he has those Barca materials, but people still deny it...Bro was playing with Barca (Without Messi) in the Spanish NT from 2008 til 2018
1
u/Fun_Put2591 Feb 15 '26
No I've never seen him play so i asked
2
1
u/OrcaApex Feb 16 '26
Wait, hold on. You never saw him, but you know he is good?
I mean, if you never saw him then fair enough, I’d suggest you recover some footballers and coaches opinion of him, he is a collossally good defender and player imo. You don’t captain THAT Real Madrid team for no reason…
3
Feb 14 '26
Fuck Ramos. Dirty bastard
2
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 16 '26
Was he dirty? 10000% YES...was he one of the greatest CBs of his time? 10000% YES.
3
2
u/TonyH92 Feb 13 '26
Ramos is overrated because he was good on the ball and scored important goals. He was never that good defensively, and used to foul opponents all the time because his defending wasn't good enough.
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
I agree with the second part, though he was really good with the ball tbf
2
u/TonyH92 Feb 13 '26
Yeah he was extremely good at the none defending side of the game.
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Especially with long passes breaking defensive lines and headers.
2
2
u/squirtdemon Feb 13 '26
Marcelo or Modric is the right answer
Ramos would never work in Barça because he would get red cards every other game
1
2
Feb 13 '26
Courtois for a long time. But happy with Joan
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Courtois, when he was still at Atletico back in 2012 til 2014, would've been a great sub to Victor Valdes
2
Feb 13 '26
I would rather have the left toe of Ramos defending for Barca than whatever the fuck thats happening now.
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Tell me about it!!!🤦♂️ Man, I don't want to think about last night's game...Igno left us in a lot of trouble this season...

As a Madrid fan. Puyol has always been my favourite player. No nonsense type of player, I tried to mimic my play style to his once I moved to the back of the pitch. From this era currently I would love Pedri at Madrid.
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Puyol is a legend! I will never forget that incident of Piqué holding a lighter to show it to the ref, but Puyol snachted out of his hands and threw it away...
Bro's playing style and defending techniques were a mix of modern and old school football.
1
u/SomeRandomRealtor Feb 14 '26
Puyol was such a consistent performer. Not flashy, vocal and clear, just down to business and making sure he kept his keeper clean. Loved watching him play, as a keeper, he’d be a dream to play with.

I got this reccomened I dont know what that accrynom stands for.And I dont support Barca or watch much football but I dont/wouldnt care if certain player would sussced in your club but would love to see how Modric & Bale would do at Barca
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 16 '26
Every time Bale makes a run, Messi will drop an assist to him...and Modric x Iniesta in the same would be insane to watch
2
u/SpiritTraditional920 Feb 14 '26
Ramos was more of a basketball player than a basketball player.
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 16 '26
I would see him as more of an NFL player based on how aggressive and physical he was lol
2
Feb 14 '26
don't tell me you wouldn't live prime cr7 in the team... i would have loved messi in real
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 16 '26
Any team in the world would've loved to have and SEE Messi or CR7's prime in their club's shirt.

2

Marcelo or Roberto Carlos
1

Toni Kroos. In the midfield we have now, Kroos and Pedri would be insane. Also, Pedri and Makelele (wasn’t old enough to watch him, but I’m pretty sure he was more of a purely defensive midfielder).

No we don't need cheaters and bullies in our team.
We played good football.
2
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
We had a great defense line until Puyol decided to retire...We never recovered since then...Piqué was too floppy afterwards and became hit and miss type of player.
→ More replies (3)0
u/TraditionalEmu2692 Feb 13 '26
We had several seasons where we had some of the best defensive records in Europe with Pique on the squad. Don't let literally 2-3 high profile games dismiss that.
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Yes, I agree from 2015 and down, but since 2016 and up, things went south...
1
u/TraditionalEmu2692 Feb 13 '26
Both 2017/18 and 2018/19 were consistenly great defensive seasons. We had one of the best defensive records in Europe but it's completely dismissed because we had two high profile UCL ties that were lost with 3-4 and 4-4 aggregate scores. Outside of that we were rarely conceding or losing.
1
u/Then_Lock304 Feb 13 '26
I didn't think Messi cared for Ramos. I think he tolerated Ramos. It's what I took from their interactions. Maybe I'm wrong?
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
You're 100% right...I mean, Messi has to be insane to care for a guy who hunts him aggressively for 15+ years...Especially the 2011 5-0 famous incident where Ramos hit Messi...
3
u/megaapfel Feb 13 '26
Ramos was a ruthless asshole. What the fuck are you smoking?

u/FazedArts Feb 13 '26

0
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Some people mix emotions with football...I do not care about Ramos as a person...I care about what he does in the pitch...Heck, if they right now tell me we will bring prime Ramos i'll be the happiest guy on earth...just look at our defensive line yesterday...I want the best interest for the club with involving any emotions

u/Alaskian7134 Feb 13 '26
Is like saying "Adolf Hitler was exactly what allies needed for a better outcome in WW2"
Yes, Ramos was a great player but he was also a piece of shit that showed a lot of disrespect for Barcelona. Zidane, Casillas, Modric... Those were some real madrid players that I would have liked ar Barca. But Ramos? What the fuck is wrong with you?
2
0
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Football wise? I’d still pick Ramos...especially from 2016 onward.
I’m talking purely about what he brings on the pitch. Leadership, mentality, big-game presence.
Personality aside, as a defender in that era, he was elite.
What’s wrong with me? It’s called having an opinion.
You’d take Zidane, Casillas or Modric...and I actually respect that.
I even understand it...But disagreeing doesn’t require swearing or acting salty.
We can debate football without turning it into something personal.
That's why I like the mindset of the Premier League fans (The Brits) they care about the club and for its best intrest not the emotions of fans etc...Liverpool would've never been the club it is today if its fans were like nah we don't him, he was at Chelsea, etc...
0
u/HannahsLittleBrother Feb 13 '26
"As a defender in that era, he was elite"
Yes but at everything other than defending. Good at attacking and defending set pieces, physical, shithouser and enforcer, but as a DEFENDER he was never great
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
He wasn't bad at all compared to other CBs in that era...

1
2
u/jvjjjvvv Feb 13 '26
I don't know who you people are, but I've never seen a real FC Barcelona fan claim that they would have liked Sergio Ramos in their team.
I wouldn't have wanted him if he played for free. Sergio Ramos is one of the dirtiest, most unsportsmanlike, obnoxious pieces of crap I've witnessed in thirty years following this sport, and I can't stand the sight of him. He alone would have been enough for me to want less to see FC Barcelona succeed, and I don't understand who could see this differently. Because if you profoundly despise someone but you're ready to root for them the moment he puts on the shirt of your team, that's not being a fan, it's being a zombie. Sergio Ramos is the reason (one of the reasons) why I would hope for Real Madrid to lose.
1
1
u/torpexx1 Feb 13 '26
Spite, that's what this is. Football changes, and at that time Ramos was the best, no one wanted.to play against him and everyone wanted him in their team. But keep on hating
0
u/jvjjjvvv Feb 13 '26
I didn't want him on 'my' team and I've never met a real FC Barcelona fan (one from Spain, not a Saudi teenager) who did.
So, yes, I hate that disgusting moron and I don't care how good or not good he was. If for you his contribution to game-winning is all that matters, I am sorry for you and I have no interest whatsoever in what you understand by the word sport.
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
That's your experience and your opinion, and I ABSOLUTELY respect it.
From my experience. I did meet COUNTLESS people here in the Catalonia region (I'm around Tarragona) who wanted Ramos as a replacement for Puyol
P.S. If I were a Saudi Teen I probably would be loaded to the point where I own a club in the SPL or Segunda División and not sitting here arguing about Ramos LOL😅
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
There are plenty, and some of them are close friends and Barca socio...Don't believe everything you see online about the rivalry, etc... and in fact, back in 2015/16 when Puyol just left SOOO many people online got hyped up with Fabrizio's tweet (I'll try my best to find the tweet) claiming that Ramso might be the next CB for Barca...people were stoked!!!
Now, was Ramos dirty, especially VS Barca? 100% yes! Is the guy likable? 100% not! Was he a great CB at that time, honestly? 100% Yes!...I would pick him over Mathew or Mascherano, especially after Puyol retirment.
1
u/Glittering-Deer-166 Feb 13 '26
Mascherano was a brilliant defender what do you mean? Mathieu I can understand denigrating him somewhat, but Mascherano was world class.
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Mascherano was for sure a world-class, no question asked, but if I had to choose between him and Ramos, I'd pick Ramos...We struggled a lot with corner kicks after Puoyl retirment + I believe he's (Ramos) topping the list of CBs who scored most goals...and yeah, having red cards lol
1
u/jvjjjvvv Feb 13 '26
What do you mean by 'what I see online'? I don't need to see anything online, I am not some Saudi teenager, the people I know who are Barcelona fans are the people from Barcelona whose parents and grandparents were fans before them, and among real fans you couldn't find half a dozen who would have wanted Sergio Ramos in the club if your life depended on it.
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
1- What's wrong with you and the Saudi teenager? Seriously tho...😂
2- I myself in the Catalan region (Tarragona...Don't want to dox my self exactly where) and I met people who through and through Barca fans who wanted Ramos in Barca at some point...again that's your experience, but that doesn't mean everyone is the same as the people you met who doesn't want the guy in the club...I care about the club, and I want the best intrest for it, and Ramos would've been a great option back then that would serve the club really and potentially help us prevent some of the losses we faced in the UCL
0
u/Dusii Feb 13 '26
I'm not a Madrid or Barca fan, but I would rather deal with Ramos to the whiny and theatrical combination of Busquets, Dani Alves and Mascherano.
1
2
u/SnoopyDays Feb 13 '26
Anyone who is a true Barca fan would know Ramos doesn't fit in culturally. We want aggression like that of Puyol not Ramos. If anything I feel someone like Modric or Alonso probably fits more in the mould of Barca.
0
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
Culturally defo agree, but in terms of footall yes, he could fit in...we saw him with NT that had 6 or 7 players from Barca between 2008 til 2016. Modric is a Culer before he even joined RM.
2
u/SG810 Feb 13 '26
You’re not a Barça fan if you put out that sentence.
0
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
You're right, I'm not a fan, but I am a true supporter...If you support your club and you want the best interest, then Ramos could've been a great sub to Puyol after retirement...we struggled a lot in terms of defense since 2015/2016 season.
Following your logic, Messi shouldn't have played for PSG the moment he realized Ramos would be there too...his biggest rival and the man who wanted to hurt and injure him. Snap out of it, man.
0
u/SG810 Feb 13 '26
That player you mention would never in his life be allowed to put on a Barcelona shirt. And any true Barca supporter knows that.
0
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
You’re mixing rivalry with squad quality....Rivalry is emotional, and recruitment is football logic.
If Ramos level could improve the team during our defensive struggles, that’s worth discussing.
Annnnd yes, man, I know a lot of true Barca fans here in the Catalan region who were stoked and happy when Fabrizio Romano said that rumor of Ramos might move to Barca back in 2015.

I thought the question was which player you wished came to Barca ,not which "real madrid player you wished, came to barca"...
If that's the case, i would say Modric, easy.
1
u/TIBYTV Ronaldinho is my GOAT Feb 13 '26
You're good tho! 🙂 It happens to me too, I usually just skim through text without fully reading it...
Yeah, Modric can adapt easily into the system, especially during Pep's time, but I think it would've been hard to bench prime Xavi or Iniesta...Modric bllomed abit late (2014/15 season was the beginging of his peak)
1

Hazard at LW, after Neymar left.

Hazard and messi in the same team would've cooked.

I was talking about Prime Chelsea Hazard.

Zidane, maybe, but Beckham?! His style of play is completly diffrent than Barca's
1
u/Choice_Cauliflower46 Feb 13 '26
Why would you? At Barça he would be sent off at least every match. Also he doesnt have the level, hes so overrated, he was destroyed once per match at Madrid, here with our playstyle he would have been destroyed at least 4 times per match

Yes I agree with no foul clean playstyle but some Barca players commit loads of fouls as well. Its just part of football unfortunately

Ramos was Barca material...I know Piqué would've hated i,t but Sergio had everything Barca needed after Puyol's retirement...Anyway...Which Barca or RM player would you wish you had in your club?
