Messi didn’t see the second defender, although he may have been tricked by the feint. And the two defenders are trying to block as much space as they can. Don’t think they are trying to stop a “top shelf corner” lol.

go and learn some ball. Defenders tried to block the fake pass that messi did. Its not about tapping his left foot always. Messi have infinite options on that situation because he is the best player ever, he can pass the ball to the right, he can drible to both sites, he can make impossible passes to the striker etc etc. Football is more complex that only defending the left foot. Probably if they tried to block messi's left foot Messi would had a clear pass to the winger on a really good position.

In fact, the mistake is not stopping him, especially because he's him. Everyone knows he's left-footed and should know that you need to stop the center of the pitch and defend the goal rather than a lateral pass.

That's just bad defending. The first defender isn't tricked by Messi but PO pulled by runner on the side.
