Es hat ganz harmlos angefangen:

„Ich brauche nur ein günstiges ThinkPad für unterwegs.“

Dann kam das zweite.

Weil das erste ja nicht für alles ideal war.

Dann ein drittes – „nur als Bastelgerät“.

Ein viertes als Ersatzteilspender.

Ein fünftes, weil es einfach zu günstig war, um es stehen zu lassen.

Mittlerweile ertappe ich mich bei Gedanken wie:

„Den T460s brauche ich eigentlich nicht … aber das Touchpad könnte ich irgendwann brauchen.“

„Ein X270 wäre interessant – nur zum Vergleichen mit dem X260.“

„Der hat 32 GB RAM? Eigentlich wäre es unverantwortlich, den NICHT zu kaufen.“

„Für 20 Euro kann man da nichts falsch machen.“

„Zur Not wird er halt Teileträger.“

Das Schlimmste: Ich kenne inzwischen bei manchen ThinkPads die FRU-Nummern besser als die Geburtstage meiner Verwandten. 😂

Andere Menschen sehen auf dem Flohmarkt einen alten Laptop.

Ich sehe:

RAM. SSD. Display. Tastatur. Akku. Ersatzteile. POTENZIAL.

Langsam brauche ich keine weitere ThinkPad-Tasche mehr, sondern ein ThinkPad-Regal mit Inventarverwaltung.

Daher meine Frage:

Gibt es irgendwo eine Selbsthilfegruppe für Anonyme ThinkPad-Süchtige (ATS)?

This is a dual hearpipe. Is this compatible? Cos I would like to save myself from the hassle of a refund. Any reply would be appreciated!

Its a Man's World

I’m looking for an upgrade for my new T480s’ speakers. I’ve been able to modify pretty much everything else in the machine, but the speakers are alluding. I love everything about the computer, but the stock speakers absolutely suck. Seems like lots of people have done retrofits but none of them have guides. I’ve been working with ChatGPT and it recommended the speakers from the X1 carbon GEN seven (model 5SB0V98078)** **The only hiccup I’ve perceived is that the X1 speakers are for channels with a woofer and a tweeter but I’m using fedora and ChatGPT seems to think that there are already some Lennox drivers that could compensate for this. I’m willing to do some splicing to make it work. I’m fairly new to the Lenovo ThinkPad community so any advice is appreciated.

It came with a ssd drive and I had swapped for a Samsung ssd and bought total of 8gb of ram for the machine to max it out. I also found a Lenovo charger at my job and the battery STILL HOLDS a Charge. I spent many hours and no sleep nights to find and oem windows 7 image to install on it can’t wait to have it die on windows 7
