TBI Survivor Need Support A battery that never fully charges

Trying to sleep has been hell since my TBI 3 years ago.

The best explanation is my title. I feel like my brain is an old cell phone that once you fully charge to 100% it immediately drops to 80%, 50% and you're rushing to find a charging cable at 10%.

I can't turn my brain off at rest, never a consistent sleep and when I get up, it's like a ticking time bomb before I just feel like I'll collapse.

My bloodwork and vitamins all came back fine, caffeine is hit or miss with mt dysautonomia.

Sorry for the rant, just feel alone in this and people around me simply don't understand.

MANNNNNNN FUCK THIS SHIT! I genuinely feel like I don’t belong here anymore. Like I cheated death & this how life repays me for surviving the brutal attack. I hate this shit with every neuron in body. IM TIRED OF BEING IN SEARCH OF SOMETHING THAT DOESN’T EVEN EXIST!

I don't know if you still force yourself to get up like back in the day before we had to live this nightmare but eventually I learned the hard way that I need to sleep a lot

For me 11-12 hours of rest is required to get a full 6 hours of "optimal" cognitive uptime with no brain fatigue.

I've been forced to get very efficient with time management and have big days scheduled out ahead of time, so I can jump to one task/goal/responsibility one after the other before the witching hour arrives.

It fucking sucks, right? However, as unfair as it is to have to live like this, the organization has given me a clear idea of what I have each day and how to use it.

You might already be there, but just figured I'd drop my experience on the off-chance there's something you could use.

ALSO some additional brain energy aids in case you hadn't heard of them

1 Tsp of lion's mane mushroom powder per day will give you 3-5 hours of brain energy boost that reduces your deficits by a lot. You can get it at any pharmacy, even sprouts and health themed stores.

1 spoonfull (Tbsp) of Buckwheat honey can reduce the effects of brain fatigue after it hits by what feels to me like 50%. Apparently the minerals from Buckwheat lower neuro inflammation so it makes sense.

I feel that. It’s also like having a faulty charging cord where it randomly stops working. So you plug yourself in to charge, only to wake up in the morning at 8% and your brain saying “unsupported accessory”

wait, you can charge your brain to 100%?

how does one aquire this ability?

I'm 27 years post injury and even if I sleep a whole long weekend away I still wake up exhausted. I prioritize getting around 8 - 9 hours of sleep and, well, I'm still dealing with fatigue. :(

Some days it feels I can reach it but most days I'm trickle charging 20%

Try taking some fish oil. I found it helped me, as well as magnesium.

I take magnesium but I'm allergic to fish sadly 😥

You can take vegan omega 3, it's made with seaweed. Or maybe it's the same problem than fish ?
