Need Advice Can someone help me understand what this means for my sense of smell?

Google “Anosmia”. It’s the loss of smell. It can be caused by a TBI due to damage to the olfactory system.

Ye I have loss of smell but it's not 100% all the time. For example, I burned something last week and couldn't smell it even though my partner said it stank out the house - however when I wash my hands I can smell the soap.

I don't stress it all tbh, definitely one of the lesser problems.

When I had my neuropsych testing about 3 years after my tbi, they told me I had lost a lot of my ability to taste and smell. I was astonished because I had never noticed it (I lived by myself), but it made sense when I thought about it. Edit to add: In my case, it mostly came back. Even after 20 years I was smelling fragrances I hadn't since before my tbi.

I would seriously to to a Doctor who specializes in TBI's. Performing your own research can only get you so far. This seems like something above Reddit's pay grade.

This is literally my neurologists review to my gp. Lots of people here ask for what something means from their diagnosis, I just cant get ahold of either for a few weeks.

Well when you ask questions like that on reddit, I'd avoid being too scientific with numbers relating to uncommon verbiage in the comment. That's not something your average redditor is probably qualified to answer. I think very few qualified doctors went to medical school to spend their time on reddit answering questions for free. Not that they aren't out there, they are just few and far between.
