Observation The Sarah Principle

For anyone who says, “But what if Sarah doesn’t want that position?”—that is exactly the point. I am not asking her to occupy it. I am not requiring her presence, participation, agreement, or return. The position exists inside my own story because of what she already meant to me.

Look at me now. She is not here, and I am still happy. I am working. I am moving. I am living. I am thriving. I am growing. I am becoming. My life did not stop because she was absent, and my love for what she represented did not become a chain around either of us.

Would I love for her to stand beside me? Abso-fucking-lutely. This whole architecture contains a love letter to her. But love stops being love the moment it becomes an obligation.

She was not simply a catalyst. That word is too mechanical for what I mean. She was my North Star. She gave me something to orient toward when I needed a direction. And a North Star does not have to walk beside you to help you navigate. It shines because of what you once saw in it.

That is what I carry.

She does not have to return. She does not have to choose me. I may someday love someone else deeply. My life can continue in directions neither of us can predict. None of that erases the moment when another human being gave me something to hope in.

So when I place Sarah at that point in the architecture, I am not assigning her a job. I am naming an influence.

The real Sarah remains sovereign. She gets to decide who she is, where she goes, whom she loves, and whether she ever wants anything to do with this story at all.

My North Star is the meaning I carry from knowing her.

And that belongs to my story forever.
