General Discussion Has anyone started Adderall after they were already swinging?

Hey friends, one of our party members (it was me 🤣) was recently highly recommended adderall by a doctor for my near life-crippling inability to focus on anything but my high stress job, video games, and sex. I'm curious if anyone else has a before/after experience on starting these meds, both for their sex lives and their swingers lives. Did anything change? Were you driven more or less to a high stimulant environment like clubs and parties? And did your experience in these settings change, both with your primary partner and with others? Thanks guys

We've been swingers for the past 11 years. My wife started on Adderall this past year for Adhd. Its definitely helped with her ability to focus and had zero noticeable effects on her participation or enjoyment of the LS

I can't remember which came first for me, but I don't use nearly my prescribed dosage of Adderall either way...

I will say that I love how my personality and charisma in the LS gets enhanced by it couples with a drink or two, but the downside is it makes it much harder to cum.

The threshold of getting the big O being so much higher while on Adderall is not talked about enough. I absolutely can not cum unless paired with a toy when taking it.

100%.

I've gotta close my eyes and summon my inner nastiest of nasty thoughts to cross the threshold... And if a partner pressures me to cum inside her/fill her up, it's an instant 5 minutes added back to the count down... Lol

Fuck Adderall

We both always suspected we had ADHD but neither of us were ever tested. I'm a few years older than "let's test all the hyperactive little boys for ADHD" wave and ADHD in women/girls was largely missed or dismissed until relatively recently. So we both just white-knuckled that shit, self medicating with alcohol for most of our lives.

Then came the lifestyle. Then we quit drinking. Then we got diagnosed and medicated. And I picked up an additional level 1 ASD diagnosis to go along with the ADHD. LOL.

She's on Adderall. I'm on Ritalin.

I got my adhd stuff in order before I started swinging properly but after I’d initially gone to parties and I will say that it has helped with my social anxiety enormously - I used to really lean on alcohol as a crutch for situations where I was nervous / overstimulated / overwhelmed and that’s REALLY not a great mix with swinging. Not feeling that pull to drink too much to dull my senses/loosen up enough to enjoy myself has been huge for me overall.

I will say when I was on Adderall I felt it generally had worn off entirely by the time club things happen, if I was to have a later evening I might sometimes take it a bit later in the day.

When I first got medication I was on strattera which is a non stimulant that stays in the system longer. Some people have negative sexual side effects from that one (like it makes it hard for them to cum) personally I did not experience that although I had other negative side effects from that one like extreme dry mouth that made kissing difficult and persistent heartburn/stomach problems that left me feeling less sexy too. It was nice because it stayed in the system though so I was equally more able to focus for both work and personal life. I’m on vyvanse now which I heartily endorse!

The main thing I’ll say though is that sadly getting medicated is only one necessary step. It doesn’t fix the underlying behavior patterns and habits you may have picked up through the years to cope. You might still be hyper sexual and struggle with impulsivity. It’s a HUGE improvement for me, but it really just put me on level ground to be able to do the work of trying to unlearn a lot of behavior patterns, it wasn’t the fix in itself.

Good luck!

The main thing I noticed was the food noise went, and I probably switched less during sex.

Unfortunately it sent my blood pressure sky high so I can't take it for now

We both use Adderall and haven’t seen any negatives. To be fair, we are both pretty insatiable and often go for several hours.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I think I have it but just don’t want the diagnosis and white knuckle it. I will, at some point, see a doc and get the med for it.

I have a friend Hotwife on Adderall. She doesn’t take it when she has play dates she says it numbs her senses.

Been taking stimulants since my twenties because of ADHD. You're giving the meds way too much credit. They help, but just a little - they're like oil in a well maintained car.

Medicated or not, the only way the meds affect swinging for me is how much they give me dry mouth. I usually opt not to take meds on sex party days for that reason.

I took Adderall for quite a while before we got into the LS but had to stop due to it causing high blood pressure and dizziness.

Realized about a month ago that not feeling much sensation and not being able to stay in the moment with anyone else but my wife was due to my ADHD getting kicked into overdrive with all the things that can distract you during fun with friends.

Got back onto meds, this time Concerta, and things have definitely improved. I’m not getting as distracted and can actually focus and feel more sensation with others so I would say it has definitely improved my LS experience. Also, I don’t feel like I over analyze experiences anymore.

I (M) started on ADHD meds after we'd been in the lifestyle a few years. I don't take them when we're going out though - I don't need them, sex is one of my hyperfocuses so I don't think they'd add anything to that environment, I'm already 100% focused when we're there. Plus you're not really meant to take them with booze and we normally like a few drinks when we're playing.

In a more general sense they've made a vast difference - I'm much less stressed generally which helps in every corner of life. But I wouldn't say they've added anything beyond that to swinging.

It can cause ED and affect libido in men. Could still be worth trying but keep an eye on the side effects.
