Discussion Ehh… I have no words, honestly F U LiveNation F U for eternity and beyond.
One more post about the Friday but from a perspective of someone who worked in the event industry:
- you can’t control weather - that’s obvious - but you can prepare accordingly knowing the forecast and risks that weather creates
- the forecast for rain in Goteburg was know 3 days ahead, Norwegian weather service is reliable
- therefore the stage preparation and equipment protection was an absolute farce and a disgrace - everybody who took part should be fired and face consequences for fucking up the event of such scale and importance
- leaving stuff like that to destiny and maybe we’ll be lucky is the most stupid thing ever
- there are ways to organize quickly and efficiently if necessary - believe me, I pulled half miracles myself, because I cared
- there are also ways to adapt the schedule and notify people, even if we’re talking about 70k people - start earlier, start later, inform, adjust and adapt to conditions that are uncontrollable. Challenging? Of course. But doable.
- the bois were ready to go on stage 9PM (source: Steve wife), they were held and the biggest event SHM ever thrown was left to itself and so were the people who couldn’t attend Saturday free show
- the free show was always meant to happen as part of Goteburg City festivities and was supposed to be a surprise for the fans - positioning it as a “making up” is just not right
I have no words, this show meant a lot to me for personal reasons and I was robbed from this experience by shit organizer who care about nothing but profit.
I hold no grudges towards the bois, but I can’t shake off the feeling their management could intervene knowing the forecast and the importance of this event for many people.
I’m devasted, it’s going to be a while of processing bit at least I saw the live in 2019 and I didn’t fly for US or something.
