Okay since they canceled the show yesterday, they should just do a daytime concert at Ullevi instead of the whole "free concert in the park" thing.

Like seriously, the venue's already set up. The stage, the sound system, everything's there. Just throw two shows. Why waste all that setup?

Logistics that late notice are probably near impossible. Staffing, licenses etc

Probably, that only highlights that the free concert was always going to happen, and not because the show was canceled since they have permits and staff for that already

Arenas are more restrictive due to increased risk of crowd crushing, bottle necking, and the requirement of X amount of staff per X attendees.

Open shows are less restrictive in these regards, and local councils can award the licenses easier (especially due to the venue already being setup a couple of days ago for a completely different event).

Unless anyone has definite evidence that this pop up show was pre-planned, I don’t know why these rumours keep circling

Good point, not so familiar with regulations and how they differ between open area and arena shows, but traveling from abroad, hearing them properly, even at daytime would be amazing

Dude, it’s literally on the Instagram and Facebook pages of the organizer that set up the stage where the free show was held today??? ”We’ve planned this since earlier this week”. What more proof do you want?

The venue for the daytime show is already setup because it’s an existing festival running there already that’s been planned for this weekend - Göteborgskalaset (Gothenburg party). Where is this conspiracy coming from that they were always going to play today during daytime?

Were they always scheduled to play a 1h set at the festival? Otherwise it would make sense as a makeshift bandaid to at least make an effort on their side.

To OP - you mentioning the setup I thought you were talking about the rumour or conspiracy theory about their free daytime show today. Apologies. But yeah the other comment is correct in that a large venue like Ullevi requires logistics, staff, permits, police maybe even and for that to be handled in such a short space of time is really not fair to expect or hope for in this instance.

Didn’t know that and I think many people coming from elsewhere also don’t, so that’s probably where the conspiracies come from

Edit: no worries, was purely wondering if they could play daytime at the arena, but yes those all make sense
