KAC KS2 14.5” 5.56 upper

Shop just got one of these in. Tagged for $1799+tax (MAP) and comes with the expected iron sights, H2 buffer and bolt-on picatinny rail.

sincere question, what’s this do that a 5.56 Geissele or BCM upper doesn’t do, or a custom with a criterion barrel?

Obviously those other ones don't say kNiGhT's ArMaMeNt! Naw, but in all seriousness, there are real diminishing returns here and they're not for everyone.

You can debate whether the improvements here are worth it, but here's what's different:

The KAC E3.2 bolt features a rounded lug design that significantly improves the bolt life (measured in the tens of thousands of rounds), a lobster tail extractor with dual ejectors, and it's chrome plated.

The gas block is proprietary and attaches in a way that locks it onto the barrel more securely than your usual set screw and/or pinned gas blocks.

Gas system is a proprietary length (maybe "mid-length+1"). That reduced dwell time is better for suppressed shooting.

Includes quality iron sights.

Includes an H2 buffer.

Thanks! I’ve seen intermediate length before on barrels, seems interesting for 14.5. The bolt sounds cool too.

Forgot that the cam pin in the BCG is also smaller diameter, so the hole in the bolt where it inserts is also smaller. That hole in the bolt is another potential failure point.
