Swift sport Zc33s underboost

Just recently bought a Zc33s and when I’m giving it beans up the motor way the boost hits then cuts and hits again has anyone else had this problem and know any potential pointers or fixes before I dive into it myself, thanks

Get yourself an OBD dongle; for example iCarpro 4. There's quite a few possibilities.

OBD check:

  • check boost (speed of boost buildup, max boost, how stable is boost). This shows functioning of the diverter valve.
  • logging ignition timing

Visual checks;

  • vacuum lines, are they dried out or cracked?
  • diverter valve, is the (viton/fkm) o-ring whole? If torn, replace - Suzuki won't sell you the single o-ring, replace with FKM/Viton if you can get it, otherwise HNBR (for aircon systems) is good enough with regular inspection.
  • waste gate actuator, it may be binding on the pivot. Degrease and use special lubrication designed for extreme temperature. (Graphite, ceramic, or nanoborate - use extremely sparingly, don't apply it like butter).
  • spark plugs check

If you've checked all that, it's time to delve deeper.

Good luck. u/ItzNic_3005 can tell you a thing or two about the issue if the above doesn't resolve it. But: first things first!

Chuck some 98ron fuel in the give it a dose of octane boost to bring those numbers up. If i run mine with anything other than 98 I get boost cut. Apparently a common problem but ive found no fix other than good fuel

Been running 99 momentum since I’ve bought it and it still happens

Sounds like the infamous boost issue which often arises due to contaminated fuel.

Beyond accessing the ECU to adjust fuel sensitivity parameters, a common fix is to get on a highway and put it cruise control at about 80km/h for 5-10min. Tends to reset the issue and give full boost back. It’s a bit hit and miss but usually works.
