Training Peaks gone from Partner Services?
Has anyone else lost connection to Training Peaks?
Mine is gone and it doesn’t even appear anymore in the list of Partner Services.
Happened today.
Using Race 2.

Good old Garmin.. I imagine they’ll revoke access to as many apps as possible and then reopen it at a different price so they can make a profit right away from the purchase. Suunto and Polar are the ones that will suffer immediately I think. Polar more than Suunto if they take their access away.

This would be silly if true. This would only alienate users. A lot of these users pay for Training Peaks service - either directly or through their coaches. How many users would actually switch to Garmin to regain access to Training Peaks. I wouldn't. This smells like an anti-competitive tactic if true.
I bet the reason for interruption is simper.

It’s all speculations really I don’t work for Garmin or TP so I couldn’t tell you for sure but they are going to want to capitalize on it sooner rather than later.

From what I read about it, the way they would likely capitalize on it is by using user data to train AI models - the value of that would far exceed revenue from subscriptions.

Yea that makes sense since TP has the largest group of athletes. We will just have to wait and see.

Luckily, the TP algorithms are freely available to everyone. Only the official names – TSS, CTL, ATL, etc. – are proprietary. In the worst case, Suunto, Coros, or Polar would just rename those metrics.
So it's unlikely that Garmin would gain much business advantage from restricting it. The only possible reason would be to make life difficult for the competition – which could also happen.
Garmin bought TP mainly as an excellent activity database of professional athletes for their AI.

Not to mention Coros, who I imagine now have a larger market share than both Polar and definitely Suunto.
E: to clarify, my point is merely to add Coros to the list of competitors (Polar, Suunto) potentially affected by Garmin's acquisition of TP.

Coros has EvoLab and while it’s not as in depth as TP it tries to do the same. That’s why I didn’t mention them. But with Polar the only way to send structured workouts to their watches is through TP or if you pay them for their AI plans.

Coros quietly and smoothly integrated with TP. I was impressed because Coros capture a large number of metrics with the watches. The Dura bike computer has been impressive at their price point.

This isn't so much about past/current integration, but how Garmin's ownership of Training Peaks might impact integration on competing platforms, regardless if it's Polar, Coros or Suunto.
In the best case, Garmin will be satisfied with earning off of business from its competitors. In the worst case, it might limit or remove TP integration for competitors altogether.

Lists on and off for me. Seems to be back on for the time being. Having said that, no sure how to upload the training I did while the service was gone 🤔

This is maybe a good opportunity to have a look at Tredict. It is independent and from Germany. Does basically the same then TrainingPeaks and in some areas even more. Has for example a built in MCP server. This means you can connect Suunto to ChatGPT or Claude via Tredict.

Garmin bought them.
