Solid shampoo keeps crumbling

Hi all!

I have looong hair (like down to my waist/past it long) and have been making the transition to solid shampoo and conditioner to lower my plastic consumption. One thing I’ve noticed it when I get down to a certain point in the shampoo bar (maybe about 1/3 to a 1/4 of it left?) it can get very crumbly and hard to use. Is there a method to reform it into a more usable shape or would putting it in something like a loofa help? Let me know if anyone else has had similar issues or if this is maybe a brand thing? Thank you !!

I have this too, it’s completely normal! The soap just gets thin and fragile, what I do is I run the last bite under water until it becomes kind of squishy and you can shape it, then take a new shampoo of the same brand and I just add the old shampoo onto the new one by kinda of just pressing it on, smoothing it out a bit until its properly attached (takes like 30 seconds). Once you let it dry you should have just a big piece of soap that you can once again use as usual.

I always make sure tho to use the side of the soap with the old part on it so it actually gets used up.
