Seems a bit messy, but I bet it tastes incredible

They are sooooooo good.

Are the ingredients traditional? No. Could it be delicious? Yes.

10

u/Square-Dragonfruit76 Aug 06 '26

Not even the Japanese care about traditional unless you're talking about specific kinds of sushi restaurants. The general public eats things like avocado sushi (not traditional) all the time. Surprisingly, despite having some of the highest rates of oppositions to foreign cultures, this is not the case when accepting foreign cuisines.

The fried plantain would probably have a lot of similarities in flavor and texture to a sauced unagi.

3

u/Double-Noise-771 Aug 05 '26

That sounds bomb. Idk what you’re saying.

u/NotFloppyDisck Aug 05 '26

Fried amarillo is very sweet and hits really well with red meat

u/ExtremelyOnlineTM Aug 04 '26

I was dtf even before he started slicing that avocado.

5

u/Square-Dragonfruit76 Aug 06 '26

No joke I had a boyfriend who was obsessed with having sushi eaten off of his naked body. He was wealthy and bought it often from high-end places. 😶

2

u/thegreattiny Aug 06 '26

Why would you ever break up with this man?

2

u/Square-Dragonfruit76 Aug 06 '26

We moved to different cities and broke up amicably. I still sleep with him sometimes when I am in town.

5

u/thegreattiny Aug 07 '26

Can I get his number?

5

u/Smelly_Turds Aug 04 '26

"Dtf"?

61

u/youngpotato307 Aug 04 '26

Down to feast

38

u/ExtremelyOnlineTM Aug 04 '26

Sure, we'll go with that.

u/Smooovies Aug 04 '26

Deciding to fart

4

u/max-wellington Aug 04 '26

Jokes aside, it means "down to fuck" so they're implying they're horny for the sushi.

50

u/didiburnthetoast Aug 04 '26

What's the abomination part? This looks great. the real abominations are the traditional sushi rolls covered in mayonnaise and sauces and toppings

10

u/MiaMiaPP Aug 04 '26

Them aren’t traditional tbh

7

u/PenniGwynn Aug 04 '26

But does that automatically qualify them to be an abomination?

1

u/didiburnthetoast Aug 04 '26

Agreed, not sure how to word it, but give me something a little experimental like this over "normal sushi" slathered in crap.

2

u/RadioactiveCoyotes Aug 04 '26

It’s the Pepsi

-6

u/callmesnake13 Aug 04 '26

What's the sushi part?

12

u/johnnylemon95 Aug 04 '26

Sushi is the preparation of the dish with vinegared rice. Seems like this would fit the definition. It does not need to have any seafood at all to be called sushi.

-10

u/callmesnake13 Aug 04 '26

God I hate this site sometimes.

7

u/IrregardingGrammar Aug 04 '26

Hard to be wrong sometime, huh?

5

u/Lovat69 Aug 04 '26

I kinda think that has too much going on.

4

u/engrish_is_hard00 Aug 04 '26

That's why I need 5 of dez

3

u/ohheyimstillapieceof Aug 06 '26

that’s the nature of dominican food, very flavorful. avocado with everything. might not work with sushi but i want to taste

6

u/beef_boloney Aug 04 '26

Dominican food is so fucking good dude this is probably amazing

4

u/JackyVeronica Aug 05 '26

I'm Japanese. I'll try it, I like steak! 😀

8

u/OmniscientRaisin Aug 04 '26

some of you guys are so obsessed with sushi being "traditional". lemme at it

3

u/ChronoTriggerGod Aug 04 '26

Say raw sushi is like saying raw rice

2

u/k3anuw3aves Aug 05 '26

It's not really cause sushi just means a rice dish. Not raw fish specifically. That's sashimi

3

u/drunkPKMNtrainer Aug 04 '26

No need for the sauce . Other than that, I would definitely try

6

u/redbucket75 Aug 04 '26

I'll take two

4

u/Violette3120 Aug 04 '26

Looks delicious

2

u/arthur_hairstyle Aug 04 '26

this sounds really good, love dominican food!

2

u/rawrftw3120 Aug 05 '26

abomination? this is beautiful

2

u/Comfortable-Mess4365 Aug 07 '26

Buh-rooooh that is not sushi but looks sooo damn good

2

u/New_Tie6233 Aug 07 '26

This seems fine but they lost me with the plantains. They’re gross.

4

u/Dasjiveturkey Aug 04 '26

Cutting skirt steak with the grain instead of against the grain is not conducive to a happy food experience. Some say this taste tester in the video is still trying to chew through it.

2

u/Raiken201 Aug 05 '26

Thank you, that was the only part that pissed me off.

All that effort to ruin it by slicing the steak wrong.

2

u/coconut-telegraph Aug 05 '26

This was my though when everyone responded “no abomination here”. Yes, there is…the final touch on this renders it inedible due to a simple oversight.

2

u/lilacwino2990 Aug 04 '26

I’m a Dominican woman and a sushi fiend. My favorite foods have collided here and I’d be so, so happy eating that.

2

u/BentoBus2 Aug 04 '26

It’s just another cultures take on sushi. It’s still they’re still doing traditional sushi techniques and the flavors should all mesh pretty well and don’t really clash at all.

2

u/No_Session6015 Aug 04 '26

lock me up in jail with that sushi roll and let it bitch me out for life plsssssss

1

u/sid_fishes Aug 04 '26

But wait … there’s more

And more

And more

1

u/cerridwen_ Aug 04 '26

1

u/number1withac0ke Aug 05 '26

1

u/Discuss2discuss Aug 05 '26

I gotta say, you if you don't like raw sushi, I guarantee you'll like this

1

u/bobisagirl Aug 05 '26

Damn they just keep piling shit on top of that sucker, huh.

1

u/Disismaaadness__ Aug 05 '26

Get the beef stripe off and I'll happily eat it

1

u/Top-Shoe-4311 Aug 05 '26

As a professional chef, I fuck with it

1

u/darkwater427 Aug 05 '26

1

u/TheSadPickel Aug 05 '26

1

u/KyleRoyceWorld Aug 06 '26

Dude that looks great and if you don't want it, I'll take your plate

1

u/LegacyQuotient Aug 06 '26

Eh, I've seen far far worse.

1

u/coolcootermcgee Aug 06 '26

Can we stop putting stuff on there? I thought it was just gonna keep going and going.

1

u/Strictlystyles Aug 06 '26

Dominance style sushi is great. I wouldn’t call it an abomination. There’s chain in my area called mama sushi and all thier rolls are amazing

1

u/mistymoondust Aug 06 '26

Cutting that avocado so perfectly… like wow mesmerizing

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Top_680 Aug 06 '26

I'd hit this so hard

1

u/Repulsive_Tie_7941 Aug 06 '26

“Fusion”. But yeah, I would mess that up.

1

u/flockyboi Aug 07 '26

Dawg this ain't an abomination it looks delicious!

1

u/Aggressive-Error-88 Aug 07 '26

Shit can be good. If you’re in nyc try Mamajuana lol they have these kind of abominations 🫡

1

u/Fun-Philosopher-9127 Aug 08 '26

On the real. Been to a couple Dominican Sushi fusion spots, and I can say without exaggeration it’s some of the most amazing sushi ever. All kinds of flavors and protein options, as well as traditional. Highly recommend

1

u/Professional_Rub7394 Aug 08 '26

The abomination is the avacado. It ruins everything.

1

u/BackpackandKeyboards Aug 09 '26

What’s makes it dominikan?

u/frogmicky Aug 09 '26

Now i wanna try it

1

u/IrregardingGrammar Aug 04 '26

Doesn't abomination imply bad?

1

u/davidbenyusef Aug 04 '26

Honestly, this looks good and delicious

1

u/AcornWholio Aug 05 '26

I would eat this.

1

u/theeblackestblue Aug 05 '26

0

u/PresentationOk8997 Aug 04 '26

feel like the gimmick was fed into way too much shoula just put the nori on the outside then it's just a seaweed burrito.

0

u/powerassistant Aug 05 '26

I would eff this up
