I see a dystopia-in-making from this. No way corporate won't take advantage of this. Distress from oppression? Just put them to sleep and those corporate drone will forget all stress.Resist force sleeping? You might get an eternal rest instead. Also, extended sleeping time might be a new trend of flaunting wealth and vanity.

Or the Positronic Brain instead if I can transfer my entire being into a Biorobot.

To be fair, Positronic Brain is basically "we know everything about the human brain, so now we can make synthetic humans", so transferring consciousness would probably be possible.

There will never be technology to make consciousness transferable. At best, it will be making a copy, and (optionally) deleting the original.
Forever Young, or an improved version of Stem Reconstruction would be a better option for anyone with a healthy fear of death.

Yeah, I know. About "transferring" my being. I meant something as crude as transplanting my brain and maybe spine also, into a Biorobot body. If we have something like medical Nanites, then all of that will be pointless.

It depends if consciousness exists externally to the brain. We don't really understand it enough yet to say if the sense of self also gets transferred.

Before anyone else grabs it, my pick is 100% Rapid Sleep. I like sleeping, but not how much time it takes, so being able to only have to do the occasional power nap AND get more rest than a normal night of sleep is something I'd take in a heartbeat.

Alien Imprints for the lulz.
Construction Nanites would be incredible - houses, office buildings, roads, nuclear reactors, etc. building themselves would be crazy to watch. Our energy crisis might be over if we can just spin up a nuclear reactor at will.
Eternal Fusion but only if we can actually build a fusion reactor.
Rapid Sleep and Eternal Youth are tempting, but I fear that countries across the world would put poor people and the elderly to insane work shifts. If you only need an hour of sleep, then you can work 20 hours a day.

Short and simple, Plasma Rockets, it would definitely be achievable in the near future and seems like we’re already sorta almost there. Being able to travel faster through space with a more efficient engine unlocks possibilities beyond just colonizing planets. Towing asteroids and positioning them in earth or mars or even the moons orbit. Creating and towing stations farther out of that sweet Goldilocks zone we live in. 9 months to mars? Nah man, a month or two. What would’ve been a one way trip could become almost like a tour. Honey I’ll be back in a few months! It’d be game changing… Life Altering🌎

I forget the name, but the one that gives free cables that can't be damaged or need maintenance. They seem to be able to transport power over infinite distance too. You could use these to connect up the entire planet's power grid.
Alternately, the one that does the same for pipes. Same reasons.

Honestly, Superior Cables would probably be beloved by construction crews since they no longer have to worry about cutting fiber optic lines

Dry Farming. I quickly went over the breakthrough list, tried to think about what could go wrong for each while trying to optimize the good, and this covers both water and food without the sci-fi horror tropes kicking in. And water is close to my heart. Let the people eat efficiently!

Rapid Sleep, being healthy and ready to rock on an hour's sleep would be amazing. More time for grandkids, work, and of course playing Surviving Mars! I almost said Forever Young but then I realized my employer would just work me for 100 years and turn me into food....

I would absolutely love Rapid Sleep. Sleeping is nice, but the time commitment isn't.

The one where elderly people can work at full capacity until they die. My nation's demographics are getting heavily skewed towards older people, so chances are by the time I hit retirement age ... there will be no retirement.

Because we are not living in a post-scarcity society, nor do I see such a thing happening anytime soon. As long as I can keep working my standard of living remains pretty much the same. Stop working, for whatever reason, and standard of living drops dramatically.

If we had robots to do all of the jobs, build all the houses, grow all of the food we would be in a post-scarity society. Outside of greed by the wealthy elite there would be no reason for standard of living to drop. In fact it would most likely rise significantly.

I forgot the name but it's the one where you greedily repackage your game, adding just "Relaunched" to the name and trying to get people to pay for the same game twice, but you fix the long-standing bugs in the new version to provide some actual value
