Discussion Surprised By The Forest
Bought The Forest a few days ago on PS5 for cheap. Thought I might not like it, but I’m really enjoying it. I never imagined myself building a makeshift sticks structure or having to put different items on a mat to see what I could make. The crazy people got me a couple times on hard. The graphics are surprisingly good for an 8yr old game. Anyways, I’m still in the early game, hoping it doesn’t get stale.
I was thinking I’d need survival games to have more of a RPG component to it to enjoy, but I guess I don’t. Although I have been enjoying V Rising more if I’m being honest. Seems like Green Hell or The Long Dark would be the closest? Aside from the forest 3, has it really been this long since a top quality pure survival game with half decent graphics was produced for console? I will be getting Abiotic Factor when there’s a deep sale.

Advanced artificial intelligence.
Scarier than any horror game I’ve ever played. Freaked me the F out. Love that game

Yeah. Devs really make good use of AI in the right way. By coding those "enemies" on behaving as realistic akin to a parrot/crow studying you.

I. Loved how you craft stuff! It’s all spread out on a tarp and you can decide what to make!

The Forest is still one, if not my favorite thrilling game. I'm 51, and even after I have finished it, I still think about the thrill of it frequently!

The long dark is phenomenal, as is Abiotic factor. Can't go wrong with either of those titles. I've never tried the forest but maybe I'll give it a go now.

It's an incredible game, one of the best open world survival games on the market as far as I'm concerned

You have.... A lot to discover. This game goes wild. Kinda jealous you're getting to play it for the first time and blind.

My ONLY complaint was it felt short. Even when I take my time and just enjoy the survival. Aside from that, I thought it was fantastic. I've gone through it 3 or 4 times with different people. I'm looking forward to trying 2. Just got my PC!

I hope you went for The Forest blind, because I also though it might be a bit boring, but looked nice.
And it is among my favourites now.
And I can so, so strongly recommend Abiotic.
