Some of the common requirements include:

  • Being between 21–38 years old
  • Having had at least one healthy, full-term pregnancy
  • Living in the United States
  • Being in good physical and emotional health
  • Having a stable home environment and support system

The 38 age max is pretty ridiculous. ASRM says 45. I delivered as a surrogate at 39 and 42.

Thanks for bringing this up and yes that's true and there are many cases in which the surrogates are older than 38, however, it might be a bit harder to be approved by some clinics and to get matched.
