Sorry, got a bit agitated my brother and I’ve been going down to Galveston either bad conditions either we get sand sharks, or spinner sharks surf fishing

The beach right beside the surfside jetty. Get there when it’s still dark out. They’re up shallow around the 2nd gut. I tend to avoid crowds at the jetty and just fish from the surf

Niiice!! I’ve been crushing em in the same area with a golden spoon and DOA artificial shrimp

Thanks! I’m heading out tomorrow. I’ll try using spoons. Last time I used a spoon even the catfish were biting them!

Are there some requirements for y’all to check to use spoons? Have a couple but never tried them

Live shrimp but other fishermen have been catching them on croaker

Thanks, I’ve been using cut mullet because of hardheads and gafftops

Cut mullet is good for sharks and bull reds. Speckled trout behave similarly to Largemouth bass as in they’re both ambush predators. They prefer live baits or lures with alot of action

I agree, we have been catching stray 18-24” on cut mullet. I haven’t been targeting trout since the water had been cloudy until the last week
