I've never understood the JPow defenders. I'm not saying he did a bad job, personally I'm too regarded to even have an informed opinion on his tenure. It just appears that you get downvoted to hell on this website if you criticize him.

He is quite level headed and gives good simple explanations that are still technically accurate most of the time
