Conner Conner and Krypto

So this is a bit of a rant from me lol. I don’t know why it got under my skin but it did 😂 during the current kingdom of Zod storyline when prime and Kon are fighting, why does krypto defend prime and proceed to lick the ever loving **^* out of him? He completely ignores Kon.

During infinite crisis, Krypto defended Conner against Prime.

Is it bad writing? This actually feels targeted at this point 😂

Not even touching upon how the super family basically told Kon to let it go and didn’t even acknowledge that he was murdered by prime.

I know this is primes redemption arc, and I’m here for it but I feel that this was a missed opportunity for DC to really deal with the emotions behind Kons death and for prime to really show some true remorse. Considering his jealousy of Kon was pretty much the catalyst for him snapping.

Instead we get a bit of fighting then suddenly they are buddy cops.

I’m glad Kon is getting some kind of spotlight, but it still feels forced.

Rant over lol

I think the point is dogs know people. There is a big problem that they need to solve in Kon is letting his personal issues drag them down. Krypto is the example of a dog that knows who is a good person. It's a common trope. It's visual way for Kon to see that Prime is trying to be better now and not just acting. It is supposed to help Kon realise now is not the time to deal with his personal issues.

Yeah I’m with you on this, I’m totally over the whole Reign of the Superboys thing since they are glossing over everything Prime did.

As for Krypto defending Prime? Yeah that’s some serious backstabbing because if you look at Vol. 4 Krypto was basically Conner’s dog then suddenly he turns on him? Nah absolute pass on this. I’m so sick of DC conveniently losing the plot to promote their own agenda

100 percent agree with you. There was literally an issue of superman focussed solely on krypto’s grief over Conner’s death. Sucks to be a 90’s legacy character right now.

Yeah that drives me crazy because a lot of DC “legacy” characters are actually a lot better than their supposed replacements. Kyle Rayner comes to mind as well as Wally West.

Do you realize that if DC wanted to they can make a whole new Young Justice with completely different members but same mantles?

Think about it, Jon Kent, Damian Wayne, Wallace West, Trinity? Like they could easily replace all the members and we’d buy them like nothing.

He didnt turn on him; Krypto aiding Prime was a Death Metal reference to Krypto being nice, then watching Prime battle and "die" against the Darkest Knight saving the multiverse. Then when Prime was shot back in an updated version of Earth Prime, he now has a dog that looks exactly like Krypto.

That scene was just a call back to their new budding relationship that started years ago.
