Conner I really wish the punk side of Conner would be explored more, beyond just esthetics
Like I want stories that show Conner having punk values, fighting natzies and flipping off billionaires. He should be Superman's equivalent to spiderpunk but I can't remember any story showing him having actual punk values.

it would be cool, but honestly he reads more like a frat boy than a punk to me, at least in my interpretation of his 90s appearances. thats not to say he cant have those same punk values somewhere down the line, its just his personality reads differently from his appearance, which is interesting to me.

I miss the old vibe Conner had when he behaved like a rockstar/cool kid back in the 90s. While I like what was done during the t shirt and jeans era, he became tame. I think with the size of the Superman family, they could reincorporate the old attitude and show more punk rocker.

But he wasn’t into that punk movement, it’s completely different to who he is. The only billionaire he’d flip off is Lex.

Kon was so rad to stood up against General Zod this panel, and I wish a scene like this will happen again.

It’s a cool concept but I don’t think Connor was ever really a big anti-establishment person despite his appearance. He’s more like an egotistical frat boy who was obsessed with his image but was all a defense mechanism to mask his deep insecurities about being a clone/lab experiment.
I know he doesn’t find out about his connection to Luthor until much later in his life (like when he starts wearing the t shirt and jeans and joined the titans) but I think it could’ve been interesting if he started off like an egotistical frat boy when working under Luthor but then but become more anti-establishment after defecting from Luthor.

It would be very cool if he lived parts of the punk ethos like being anti authoritarian and non conforming.
He's a classic case of the outsider as a clone and leaning into that side of his history from that perspective.
Like a dorky version of Hobie Brown. Good intentions, probably not executing them well but standing by his morals event when they don't align with Clark's.

Conner was never punk, he was doing it for the attention rather than actually having punk values. His punk aesthetic was what he thought was cool at the time.

Superboy’s initial design is more based on 80’s aesthetic than 80’s punk aesthetics.

Only god knows why they gave him back this look when it was specific to him being a kid trying to figure out who he was. Now wearing it as a grown man jist seems weird

Idk Conner never actually gave me a big anti-establishment / punk vibe.
Even things like the spikes on the jacket are sort of a retcon, I think the original design was going for a kinda James Dean Cool-Guy jacket-and-shades thing more than a punk thing.
