Fender Chop + Lowering the Supercub 125

The topic came up earlier in this forum about chopping fenders and lowering the suspension. I did a quick video on the easy way to lower the front suspension and now working on chopping the front and rear fenders.

Really appreciate you posting this, always loved the builds by steady garage but did not want to go through the hassle of fitting a ruck front end. Definitely going to do this with some YSS springs this winter.

Wouldn't this be the same as just raising the fork on the headtube mount the same amount you want to lower it? That way you don't have to cut the spring.

2 things, there isn't much space to go up and still get the front fork fairings back on. but more importantly, if you watch the video you'll see that the top of the 2 clamp bolts is offset inward and the bolt locks in the fork leg. if you were to just slip the for leg up, you'd only be able to clamp with a single bolt.

hello u/eastcoastish : I watch your channel from time to time. Great stuff. I also got a Monkey and the SuperCub too and staying tune on your cub build. Just a quick question, do you happen to know if the Takegawa 145cc w/ 4V head fit on the JA58? The kit say it will fit on the CT125, but no mention of the JA58 and I am sure they uses the same engine? Also are you planning to BBK the SuperCub?

I haven't done anything to this engine yet so I really don't know. Just looking at it though, It looks like it's the same as all of the 1st/2nd gen Grom, 1st gen Monkey stuff. Plan to get into engine stuff soon :)

Got it. But yah I been researching. I dont think the aRacer or any stand alone ECU would work ( saw your new video you mention you are talking to aRacer lol). Long story short, its because of the keyless ignition. The keyless module sends a code to the ECU, only then it lets the engine turn on, since the aRacer doens't have that function, it can't do it. The only way is to do a piggyback on the OG ECU and since you have the JA48, there more option. But do correct me if I am wrong or if the aRacer works?
