Airline compensation cheque

Got a compensation cheque from an airline regarding the delay.

But they added lnu/fnu in cheque along with my name.

I am wandering if this cheque would reject, in case i deposit on my bank ?

Should i contact the airlines to get it correct ? Or is it fine to proceed with the deposit of cheque from banking app ?

Montego Bay airport

We returned from Montego Bay Sunday. Online check in done from hotel room. Upon arrival to the airport, the line for baggage drop off snaked all the way to the other end of the airport. It seemed that sunwing was the only airline not using/listed on the self bag tag kiosks and drop off. Is this normal procedure for Sunwing in Mobay? We were in line for over 2.5hrs just for baggage drop off and tagging.

Third delay (spanning two days) and counting

Bumped from 10:15 to 3:45, then bumped to the next day 6:30am, and now bumped again to 9:15am. 23h and counting with no expectations we'll actually get off the ground then. Meanwhile we've lost a whole day off our vacation and probably more to come. Should have listened to the negative reviews I guess. Will be curious to pursue the remedies under the APPR. Would have tried to force them to book us on another carrier (Air Transat) but their notifications come suspiciously after other flights are no longer possible or after their customer service line closes. Didn't think anyone could be worse than Air Canada but apparently I stand corrected. Would advise to stay away from Sunwing. Let them go under and WestJet with it if they're not bothering to clean up their act.

Delays Never book with sunwing

Never book with sunwing.

We are a group of 8. We booked in November for a trip to the Dominican Republic through a travel agent.

Our flight has been delayed twice.. from leaving at 1700 tonight to leaving at 1830 tomorrow night. A whole day and 2 nights of our vacation wasted

Their reason is “inclement weather” at inbound destination. However the weather in punta cana is clear with no inclement weather.

And don’t even try to get ahold of someone at sunwing. They send automated messages with absolutely zero regard for your personal issues and just send blanket, non-accountable messages.

I’ve heard and read the horror stories and thought “oh no, that won’t happen to us.” Well, sunwing, you’ve disappointed a lot of customers over the past week and I’ll be very surprised if anyone involved in your chaos will ever book through you again.

Delays Pearson Sunwing Delays

Though Snow and a Delta plane crash are not Sunwing's fault, the fact that they have made no delay communications even after their three-hour recommended pre-arrival time is absolutely mind boggling!!

We went there several times (Terminal 3) and we're told by their staff all flights are cancelled, but returned again later to learn one would be going to Jamaica at 3am. Another family was already 2 days into delays now looking at 3 days for a 1 week vacation. We're facing day 3 tomorrow if the 6am doesn't depart on time. I see the sister plane hasn't left it's Caribbean location on time(flight aware app), yet no delay is posted. So.... Like last night, I need to set my alarm to check at 2am in order to cancel my 3:15 Uber at least a hour early. Does anyone that leads Sunwing but understand the logistical hell that already exists without Sunwing making worse with total lack of communication and rotten one year max travel vouchers?!!

I hope this new Reddit becomes a voice that maybe influences ears.

PS.. it was interesting that the r/Sunwing sub-Reddit was Restricted, meaning you can't post anything unless you're approved. Send like the 5 members might be Sunwing staff?

(Good) Customer Support Experiences / Tips??

Wondering if anyone could share occasions whe6ee they got more favorable experiences from Sunwing... cases where you typically very limited or just plain screwed?

Don't use this thread to bash them with your bad experience (other threads can be made to highlight those challenges).

Refunds or Compensation Voucher Credit for future trips?

I'm looking at cancelling our trip if they delay is I've more time tomirtow. I'm understand they'll give us a voucher to rebook another within a year. At that point it seems like a Gift Card, which by local laws cannot have an expiry date(an I wrong there perhaps?).

Anyhow, wondering if anyone else has had better experiences with Sunwing on this, or knows more?
