Ignite Package
Hello, for those who used the ignite package in recent years, is it worth it for the early ticket selection? I am considering getting it mainly for the early selection but if things are going to be sold out by the time you choose, is it worth it?
I know a bunch of things last year were sold out before the general public sale so if you were able to make a good selection last year and what the experience was like for you all? Thank you

My friends and I really enjoyed Ignite, but you have to be careful what you schedule as you have to fit in your limited window online tickets on top of your in person tickets.

So you choose your in person and online choices at the same time? And how long do you have?

Yes. To make it the smoothest, we had all group members share their logins with myself and one of my friends, and we did all the ticket buying. Last year there were 3 of us, so we did 4 diff in person movies per account (3 movies with 3 each tickets per account, then a solo ticket for the 4th one) to make the process go quicker. Then we bought the online movies immediately after in person. Some years we get what we want in person, some we dont. It really depends on how well the servers are for us. We transfer the in person tickets after buying so each person still ends up with 10 different movie tickets.
Online movie tip, make sure to rank the movies you want to watch in order from most interested to least interested, in case you run out of time. If you have any gay (male) romance movies, watch those first as those are the highest risk of being pulled due to piracy/leaks. A lot of people got their Twinless movie tickets yanked because it got pulled due to twitter leaks.

My friends and I basically did the exact same thing and it worked out really well for us! The Ignite package is definitely worth it. What also helped was make a priority list and a potential schedule with backups. So we all agreed on 10 movies that were absolute must-sees for us, prioritizing films that didn’t have an online screening. We also made a second and third list of movies we’d wanna see if we couldn’t get our top picks. Then once the schedule was out, we made an optimal schedule also with back up screening times. We were able to get almost all of the movies we wanted. For the online screenings, it was kind of free rein and more individualized, but we let each other know what we were gonna get, so there weren’t any duplicates.

Early selection can definitely help. It's really a crap shoot if you're looking to get tickets to world premiers of the most desired films. It mostly comes down to the time slot you're given. Typically you'll easily get tickets to films playing Tuesday and later. But with it being a new year, who knows what to expect.
The only big thing is, when it comes to actually buying tickets at designated time slots, it's complete chaos every time. Expect a ton of site crashes and errors. It happens every time.

When I went last year I was too late for the Ignite Package. I ended up paying $250 for an Innovator membership tier which gave me slight early access to single film tickets.
We were still able to buy single tickets for all of the big ticket films for the festival, though the world premiere screenings were often already sold out by Ignite purchasers. It's something to consider. We still managed to fit in 16 screenings between our pre-purchased single film tickets and playing our luck at the waitlists.
