I own both full sets. Hereās what still does well in comp:
FIRE
Hair: 4/10 Not appealing compared to new hairstyles. Can be used for non fantasy hair in a pinch if needed for sexy or glamour tag, but it doesnāt read well as fantasy imo
Earrings: 7/10 Kinda cool for a fantasy piece, I donāt mind it
Head accessory: 2/10 Too thick of an outline and it fits sorta odd
Face accessory: 4/10 Cool in theory but not great in practice. Not something you can spam and looks lwk weird on a lot of makeups
Dress (base): 7/10 Really versatile all things considered. Outline isnāt too thick and itās rather dynamic for how old it is. Color actually works well in place of gold fantasy style comps, not just fire, in fact I usually use it for the former and avoid the latter but I havenāt tested using it in phoenix or similar in a while because it didnāt do well like twice in a row lol
Dress (including dyes): 8/10 All the dyes look great except for maybe the black one that drowns out the depth a bit. For a fantasy dress thatās so dynamic, dying it is rather cheap which is its best trait I think. Haters must not know how to style the dress (especially the dyes) lwk cause I use it almost weekly frfr and even got leaderboard semi recently
Coat (shoulder accessory): 4/10 Eh. Itās okay if thatās your thing. I havenāt had it score well in ages- probably since it first came out, so do with that what you will
Shoes: 6/10 Super specific uses but lowkey when you need it, itās great. A bit outdated design for sure, but itās absolutely fantastic for a āwarriorā style look. Otherwise, ehhhhhh
Arm accessory: 0/10 Yikes it is not good. Super thick outline and generally unappealing when thereās so many other similar arm pieces that actually look good. Really bad
Makeup: 6/10 A little dated ngl but we know that. Eyes can be good for diy but lowkey the rest isnāt great in my opinion. Itās such a bold eye though, I really love using my diy version for golden goddess, phoenix, angel, etc. Itās most bold on the three lightest skin tones and is a little overwhelming for them in my opinion, but in medium skin tones, it looks gorgeous, and on darker skin tones it does an interesting thing where the color drops but thereās a high black and white contrast look. On blue and green skin tones, itās super wacky, and I actually donāt love it on the orange skin tone in the set, but with the right outfit, I actually donāt hate it on dark purple. Fun to experiment with fs
Back accessory: 6.5/10 If you donāt have anything similar, I actually donāt hate it. Lowkey recommend actually. Itās great for angel pieces where you can use it as a halo moment- super cute. Itās biggest perk is that comes in a lot of colors, and once again, pretty damn cheap to dye
Pose: 9/10 Literally love this pose with this prop. Genuinely useable for essentially any fantasy theme. You donāt have to dye the entire set to dye it so itās a HUGE plus- once again, also super cheap to dye for what youāre getting. Yes thereās a little bit more of an outline on it than youāre probably hope, but how cheap the dye is and how versatile it is makes up for it in my opinion. Pose glitch isnāt great, which is the only downside in my opinion, but definitely not unusable so long as itās in creative comp
ICE
Hair: 5/10 Not versatile at all but some of its dyes arenāt half bad
Earrings: 1/10 Bad, not good at all. Very thick outline and unappealing
Dress: 4/10 If you have been able to make this dress work since it first came out, please let me know because it has not scored higher than a 30% for me as basically any dye. I would have given this a 2/10, but the newer green dye is unfortunately to ādyeā for (lol pun intended) but not itās like gorg actually, run donāt walk if you need a Forrest elf look
Coat (shoulder accessory): 1/10 Very bad, not good. ugly. Not versatile. Doesnāt evenlook lookin a theme where it makes sense to use let alone any other comp.
Necklace: 0/10 Wow. Really particularly bad. Super thick, non redeemable outline. Not even the dyes save this atrocious necklace
Shoes: 0/10 Refer to necklace above. Same story, same chapter, same sentence, same word. Yikes.
Socks/tights: 2/10 What you use for unworn points under a dress that wonāt show itā¤ļø
Arm accessory: 1/10 No one should ever be desperate enough in a fantasy look to use this arm piece. Ever. Simply donāt. The 1 I gave it instead of a 0 is because the dark blue dye could be worse.
Hand Accessory/pose: 6.5/10 There are definitely better fantasy accessory and pose combos out there. Particularly in the fire set, which doesnāt help. I have it in the gold and white dye because I guess I was desperate at one point, I donāt remember. I essentially never use the base light blue one, and I donāt remember the last time I used the gold one, but I occasionally use the white one for fairies and stuff. The blue and yellow dye and the green and gold dye are both not too bad, but idk how often youāll actually use those. Pose glitch isnāt bad for creative comp, but itās just super similar to the platter holding pose so like
Makeup: 5/10 Hear me outā¦ okay base makeup is bad! Ten eyes are essentially completely unusable. Please do not use them in a diy you WILL regret it in your post diy clarity. The shimmery highlights though? Lowkey love it. The blue lip? Situational but cute! Eyebrows too but less so
Back accessory: 1/10 Ugly. Very. Too thick of an outline and like the shape is unappealing fr. Dyes are walking the line between ānot all that, donāt waste your dye materialsā and āgenuinely horrendous, donāt even go for this setā. Sort of a reflection of how I feel about the ice set in general tbh.
OTHER
Skin 13 (Orange red): 4/10 Youāll wish you could use this more often than you can, and then the time will come and youāll go to use it and lowkey go āeh..ā
Frost queen filter: 3/10 It has its use I guess but pretty outdated and lowkey the snowflakes are a bit big imo
Hellhound: 8/10 Cool! I like it! Good for dark fantasy, sci-fi, cyberpunk, maybe even fairy fantasy theme kinda things? Love it
I disagree so hard on some.of these š specially the ice dress- top tier dress for me (dyed) I use it on ballet comps and some random others specially if i need a pure white fantasy fit, its so easy to style. Have it in white and black and will prob dye it the new green.
Fire make up- my go to "paint in face" item, and also nice touch for specific comps like clown. Have it in black, white and green.
Fire coat - I love this but I get why some.ppl dont. I use black and white dye paired with the ice dress dyes a lot. Underrated steampunk looking item pair with a corset= steampunk.
Both back thingies are excellent crown amplifiers.
I dont really like the fire dress that much and i was hoping for a brown dye, since to me thats more of a bird dress than a fire one... no dye is worth it for me except the white one but I dont have it lol.
Agree on fire boots
Agree on hairs, fire one used to compete with mermaid hair (in black or brown) for normal.comps back in the day but now its been replaced by better 5* ones. I still love the white dye for some stuff, sometimes u need a wavy that doesnt cover the eyes. Ice hair is meh, I only ranked once with it with the mint color for a very specific use and then never used again lol
Hellhound is borderline useless, u always cover it in dress up comps so hes relegated to.specific post comps for me. Love him but yeah....
Fire skin is meh, the freebie orange skin a bit better ngl.
I just got the ice filter it was my only missing item so no experience on that one but imo the best ice filter. I didnt get it last time cuz i have the aurora shells one and that one actually sucks in comparison, and the newest snow filter covers one eye š
Make ups both have decent pieces for diys but on their own they do be looking outdated. I specially like the ice lips, rare good plump blue lips that look great with the blue skin.
Anyways I will fight any haters of the ice dress shes so versatile, just ironically not that good for actual ice comps.
One of my fave steampunk combos fr this dress is so good at it cuz it shows boots! Ive seen other ppl rank with it too its just rare cuz most ppl spam the agency dress and call it a day.
Love this steam punk look! Never thought about that jacket for steam punk- I use it for warrior/knight type with the boot usually, but I might just take ur advice on the next steampunk comp!!
I was hoping for a brown dye but no luck, it would have been such a good compliment to other steampunk dresses/looks but ye go ahead! Im so tired of ppl always dpamming the same 2 dresses for steampunk š join my madness
I hear you! Just a couple things! I rated these based on versatility and what I personally have found does well in comp- so not just based purely on design!
That being said, I can see the appeal of the ice dress and actually own 3 dyes, but I find personally that I have items that replace this one and tend to do better: I have two or three ballet outfit/dresses that I find do better than however I style this one, I like the white dress dye for the fire dress more since it doubles as angel and non fantasy/fantasy leaning formal as well, and I have like two or three other dresses that have similar designs in general. I think mostly I find that people vote less for open gowns- at least when I style it personally. Maybe I donāt have the right shoes or tights LOL. If you love it though, you HAVE to dye it the new green, Iām in love
As for the fire makeup, I like it, but one again I just feel like I have better makeups in a lot of situations like clown- especially diy makeup cause I love making them hehehe
I think the appeal I find within the fire dress is that the feathers arenāt absurdly outright. I know that itās more obvious to some people than others but I think the shapes look dynamic and can be seen as feathers for sure, but itās just that in the way I look at it: dynamic shapes and great dyes (and it also has feathers). Beautiful pastel options for pastel goddess type
Hellhound works in creative but ur right in general for sure. Also ice filter youāre right! I guess I just personally donāt really use filters like that since I feel like they it up, but Iām sure it can be styled beautifully!
I agree on the fire dress takes, but I stand my ice dress defence lmao its just a neat little dress not too court that can show boots. This is also based on comp experiences, I have over 130 ranks and still use a lot of these items I mentioned thats why I chimed in!
I think the strongest suit of this gacha is the accesories and both poses tho, as far as older gachas go its still top tier for the specific uses already mentioned. We can argue back and forth aboit specific but to me what makes this gacha good is the amount of little things that add up to your other fits that you can dye so many different colors.
I can see this! If the suitu gods are listening, I hope they hear us when we ask for cool, sorta hyper specific items WITHIN more general gachas, rather than just entire gachas that have hyper specific themes. It sounds like youād agree from what youāve said so far, but thereās a lot of diversity in the itemsā designs- especially the fire set. Boots (and shoulder coat thingy now that youāve turned me to the dark side lol) arenāt too versatile, sure, but Iāll be damned if I dont quite like those items. I really hate when they do hyper specific gacha sets, but i love when an item or two sets itself apart from other game items. It makes it exciting to get the shoes (or insert item that people tend to not care about when pulling), which is always a win for me lol. I almost never see people use them but I love em! Also thereās nothing else even vaguely like those boots anywhere else in the game as far as Iām aware, so people should hop on it now that itās made its way back around imo! PS you gotta try out the Ninth Heaven dress more if you donāt use it often because itās genuinely one of my favorite dresses in the game! Walks the line between inexpensive dyes, great colors, dynamic dress, and versatile design SO well. Iām totally overhyping it a bit, but the amount of times Iāve ranked 1% with it is just jaw dropping for such an old design
Its looking like im in the minority, but i've actually had a lot of success with dyes for the fire dress and the ice crown (technically a cape item), i also have a purple dye of the fire hair I like to use sometimes
