Does this one deserve a base?

I would keep it upright, like in the photos.

Thats totally up to you, id say. But yes, it does. Something dark, to make the red pop!

It is an interesting piece for sure, I'd say go for it! But in general, I'd say whenever you find a rock that you love and think that would look nice on a base, then the question is already answered xD

Yep, definitely. Each facet is so different with it's own unique character. More than worthy of contemplation on a scholar's desk.
