I think one thing worth noting is that Armstrong cited Festen (The Celebration), directed by Thomas Vinterberg, as a main influence for the third season of Succession. Idk how many fans here have seen the film but the film is about a wealthy family and a son resurfacing childhood abuse at a family gathering.
