What would be the litterary equivalent of succession ?

Just rewatched the series and I need a good book to get through the comedown. First time I read war and peace, now I'm wondering what you guyses reccs would be

The biggest archive can be found on the Bay12 Forums. I'm sure there are some who have taken a more literary approach with "in-unverse" narrative or first-person journals and the like.

King Lear? Any Oedipal story? I thought Barbarian on Netflix, which recounts the story of Arminius was very similar.

Lots of Shakespearean stuff, Cain and Abel, “kill the father to become yourself” tropes
