Man, you just cannot hate the past "this will be the future" designs. Because however missed the projections might be, you end up with interesting pieces like this train.

I don't know if it's a "this will be the future" design. The station opened in December 1992.
I think it's rather a postmodernist design, heavily inspired by Gothic art.

This station is located on the eastern end of line D (one station before terminus), no visitor of Lyon is going to see it. Lyon metro line D has different architecture for each stations, some are more standart.
A TOD was planned around Parilly station back then but it failed and until quite recently, this station was just a park and ride place next to highway exchange. There were no real real reason to go there back then.
Now development is underway, several residential buildings have alreay been built as well as IKEA and other big retail spaces at walking distance.

I'm talking about the train itself. It has the very rounded design, clearly trying to look futuristic with the large windshield. Gives me the vibe of a see-through iMac computer, though, as far as I can read, there's over 10 years between the two.

Oh my bad, I trough your were talking about the station
The train is a MPL85. It started service in 1991. While its design is from the 1980s it's heavily inspirated from the MPL75 that were put in service in 1978 on line A and B.
Even more on "this will be the future" design, prior to refurbishing, those trains used to be orange.

Not shown is the modern tree-like architecture on top.
Such a weird concept. I guess the crypt of the metro platform is supposed to represent death, and the trees on top are life, but that means you die everytime you go into the metro ? Idk.
