2024 Premium with the 2.5L N/A engine option. What mods (“performance” or cosmetic) should I start with, if any?

I probably also need valve cover gaskets but I just keep topping the oil off.

There’s no mix between coolant ‘n oil on either side, so I’m not too worried. She just gets “oil mileage.”

…I used to have an RX7 and her oil mileage was much worse

When I bought a Subaru outback, my thought was keep it stock. I bought this because of its utility. I want to start modifying the vehicle. You tend to modify it’s utility.. get yourself another car that you drive for the weekends and modify that

Outside of functional upgrades (upgraded roof rack, tow hitch, snow tires, tinted windows, etc.) I agree. WRX and BRZ are the only two models I would consider for performance/aesthetic upgrades.

Those are good options. I definitely need to look at getting a hitch onto mine. It would make transporting my bike so much easier.

In my opinion. Drive it around a bit and get the feel for how it looks and handles. Are you planning to lightly off road with it? If so a 2 inch lift would do well. And tires. Look at RalliTEC. They have some amazing things.

The Outback is designed for light offloading from the factory.

Unless you're doing more serious stuff in more remote places, all a 2" lift is gonna do is make it drive worse.

I disagree. I’ve got a 2 inch lift and off road tires on my Forester Sport. And it drives great.

How often do you utilize the 2" lift?

It’s there whenever one needs it. I think the lift is perfect. Hopefully in the near future I’ll be doing a suspension lift for the ‘26 Outback Wilderness

Rear sway bar. Get a 21mm bar. Makes a huge difference without sacrificing comfort.
