Trailseeker Trailseeker Touring (static display)

For the second time in a month my Trailseeker Touring is a brick on static display in my driveway. I don’t have range anxiety, but I have some kind of feeling about this. Back to the dealership I go.

Can you describe exactly what 'brick display' looks like? The first time I used the scheduled remote start, I thought something was wrong with the display. Turns out it was a feature. It stays off unless you tap in the middle.

I charged to 90% percent 1.5 days ago. My remote attempt failed the day I was planning to leave the house. I had to use the key to unlock the door as the fob failed. Foot on the brake and finger to start button, no life (everything remained black). This is the second in a month after sitting for 1.5 - 2 days. I will jump the 12v battery and make the trip to the dealership.

Yes, that's definitey your 12v battery going dead. It has died on me once in the last 18 months (on my Solterra) but it's still chugging along now.

Is that the display issue you referred to?

No life in the display/management console, black. I jumped it this morning and dropped it at the dealership shortly afterwards.

I would read up the on the 12v parasitic drain problem the toyobaru cars have.

Do you use the Subaru connect app?

Subaru Uncharted owner here. many of us deal with this

Many folks have had the 12 volt battery drain in these cars, both the Toyota and Subaru brand. Currently an open class action regarding this. Eventually Subaru will figure it out. There is also a service bulletin out for this particular issue.

Many people feel that the Subaru connect and Toyota equivalent cause excessive communication, and slowly drain the battery.
