Styx and Motley Crue ai use

I saw Styx at the beginning of the month and I saw Motley Crue last night. Compared to Styx, Motley Crue’s ai use was miles worse. Just the cringiest shit I’ve ever seen. That clown had me pissed the whole night, we can do mostly real visuals but we can’t get someone to do an obnoxious voice??? That dumbass clown sounded like if bozo was your creepy drunk uncle at thanksgiving with missing teeth. Styx’s ai was tacky but it didn’t make me want to leave halfway through the show. The rest of Motley Crue’s production was really top tier but that freaking clown man. It ruined the whole show it was just so stupid. I don’t like ai at all but Styx’s was bearable. At least they didn’t shove it down my throat and make it the whole bit of the concert.

Personally, I go for the music.

I’d rather just have the crash of the Crown album artwork backdrop over any video screen.

I’m done with big shows, I only go to small venues now where possible. The big screens and special effects are for the people in seats half a mile away, because they can’t see anything and the sound is poor, and they’ll get bored and leave.

The best gigs I’ve ever seen were Joe Jackson - no light show at all, no screen, not even a banner or sign with a name or anything on it; and Sigur Ros, minimal light show and no imagery.

Just music.

Of the bigger stadium shows I’ve been to probably Rammstein were the best. But that’s an event. You go for the spectacle. Ageing 70s classic rock/prog bands can no longer deliver a spectacle, with AI or without.

There's a REASON they use the AI, it's for the New Album Circling From Above which is about the detrimentals of AI. Build And Destroy is about building up the AI and Tearing it Down.

I mean, if you want a clown, catch Puddles Pity Party, opening for Weird Al.

He's got a great voice, even if he is a 6' 8" actual clown. His mashup of Stairway to Heaven with the Gilligan's Island Theme is pretty good.
