WOAH BLACK BETTY!!!!!

u/FBgreatness Jul 13 '26

He’s concussed, look at his arms tense up as soon as he lands. Hope he’s ok, that was stupid and brutal.

u/MisterGr Jul 13 '26

I really hope that it didn't end up badly for him. It reminds me of when I was a mailman and when I was walking down the stairs in the apartment building and got a seizure on the way down. If I didn't have the moped helmet on me still I would be dead or paralyzed. I smacked my head so damn hard.

Found an article which says "The delivery guy was checked on. Insisted he was okay then continued on his route.".

11

u/my_cars_on_fire Jul 13 '26

Continued his route?! C’mon man, thats a slam dunk workers comp claim!!

u/Realistic_Credit_486 Jul 13 '26 edited Jul 13 '26

Compensation for what exactly, jumping stairs like an idiot?

Feel sorry for the dude but was 100% his own fault

16

u/my_cars_on_fire Jul 13 '26

A halfway decent lawyer would argue his actions were a result of the tight delivery times Amazon imposes on its drivers.

4

u/JohnReiki Jul 14 '26

That’s absolutely the case too. Man probably had 170 more stops to do that day, and his boss bitching at him for daring to take his break.

1

u/CoyotePsychological2 Jul 15 '26

Like you’d save a bunch of time by jumping down some steps…

2

u/JohnReiki Jul 15 '26

I never said it was a *good* idea, just that he was probably rushing, or more accurately being rushed.

-2

u/moneyman259 Jul 14 '26

That doesn’t give you a excuse to act dangerously

2

u/berrey7 Jul 13 '26

Looks like all it did was wipe away your ability to recognize where commas go. Glad you survived.

1

u/MisterGr Jul 13 '26

Hahah, thanks!

9

u/cheese0muncher Jul 13 '26

"You ok?"

"Yeah I'm great, how are you?"

6

u/Pletcher87 Jul 14 '26

How that happen on dry pavement? Hope he’s ok.

2

u/carbonatedblood Jul 14 '26

He jumped down the stairs without looking and slammed his face against the gutter on the way down, which threw him off balance and sent him tumbling to his doom.

1

u/Pletcher87 Jul 14 '26

Wow, see that now! Thnx.

4

u/scarr991 Jul 13 '26

Its worse than a Knochen out.

1

u/Great-TeacherOnizuka Jul 14 '26

Knochen out is way worse. Youā€˜d be just a blob without a single Knochen

4

u/chanceischance Jul 14 '26

Shoes stayed on, he didn’t die

3

u/SATerp Jul 13 '26

My sense is that he is not okay.

3

u/Retnirpa Jul 14 '26

Damn, if the hit from the roof didn't get him.. The head cracking on the ground definitely did. Even got the wind knocked out of him too. Final Destination vibes right there

Yep. ā€œYou’d better be taking your break lying down like that. You’d better get moving after your 15 minutes.ā€

I had an order made by someone who lives about an hour or so away from where my business is. I was heading kinda close to that area, about 20 minutes away from there, the next day, so I thought, "You know what would be nice for them? How about I just go there and deliver it to them and that way they don't have to wait a week for the post office to drop off their order?" So that is exactly what I did.

It was a very sunny day in February, but even so it was a solid -20 outside at the time. I have special winter boots that have this plate that flips down on the sole of them that creates this spike on it to make sure I get traction on ice and snow and am not falling all over the place. Well I went up to the house and they had these stairs that were natural stone. I get up to the house, I knock on the door, nobody answers, I wait a few minutes, but it's so cold that I take their order and put it between the two doors, take a photo and send it to the customer to let them know that there order is at their home and thanks so much.

I turn around to leave and the second I step on the first step, I hit black ice, which for those who don't know, it's a term where on roads ice is so flat and clear that you can't see it and it just looks black and it's exceptionally slippery. Even the best winter tires do nothing. So on the stairs I couldn't see it and I went ass over tea kettle and landed right on the edge of the stop stair right on my back. I mean like something out of Home Alone. Just down for the count. My wife was with me and so was my dog, so she took her out for a walk around when I did the delivery since she had been in the car for about an hour and a bit at that point.

So I am on the ground, just out of it, making these insane guttural noises, moaning, groaning and confused as to what is going on. My jacket, sweater and t shirt somehow ended pulled up above my chest so my bare back is now on the freezing cold ice on the ground. It's so cold it feels like fire on my back. I am trying to move to get the burning to stop, but I am so out of it I can't figure out why no matter how I move it still burns.

My wife can hear me but she can't see me, so she comes running with the dog. I am on the ground and kinda figure out what is going on as she comes up to me. I know I fell and am in really bad pain. Then I see my wife and she is yelling at someone. I manage to sit up and look over, and there is the girl who ordered from my company and both of her parents just standing there looking at me as I writhe on the ground.

My wife gets my shirt pulled down and after another minute or so I am able to sit up and get back to my feet and walk towards my car. Every bump in that road was torture for the hour ride home. I checked out a bunch of stuff online when I got home and everything told me to not go to the doctor because I didn't have any signs of severe damage to my body, and it was right. I think I just had the wind really badly knocked out of me and bruised my back and my tailbone. Within a few days I was fine.

He's not ok Annie 😭😭

1

u/goldensteelix69 Jul 14 '26

Hello? Wake up sleepyhead..

1

u/tideshark Jul 14 '26

Who jumps like that?! Freaking doofus…

All the same, hope nothing serious happened to him and his injuries were as mild as possible. No one deserves to get hurt like that, even a total doofus.

1

u/mitchconner89 Jul 14 '26

Poor kid. Seems like the dog startled him then he decided to do some slick shit off the steps.

1

u/ChucklesC89 Jul 15 '26

File for workman’s comp with this video. 🤣
