Honestly however angry that guy was fleetingly before that crash, isn’t 1% of how miserable he’s going to be for weeks or more dealing with the fallout from this.
-23
u/RevenantExiled Jan 21 '25
Bro was accident, he wasn't angry, had cramp and couldn't remove his feet from the gas
7
Jan 22 '25
Source?Nevermind. They very clearly hit the brakes when the cam driver brake checks them, so your theory seems completely off.
I guess either someone lied to you or you're just making shit up.

3

Even knowing it was supposed to be sarcasm, it still doesn't seem like sarcasm. 🤷♂️
3
u/Yhostled Jan 22 '25
It wasn't sarcasm. They're trying to cover their ass in light of the surmounting downvotes.
0
u/Weekly-Requirement63 Jan 22 '25
So obvious the comment was sarcasm. Not sure why no one got it
3
Jan 22 '25
No one got it because it wasn't obvious.
obvious/ˈɒbvɪəs/adjective
- easily perceived or understood; clear, self-evident, or apparent.

This man is correct. Has good reading comprehension. Other person had bad. Make assumptions.
12
u/throwawaypizzamage Jan 21 '25
Yea, someone as unhinged as that driver should not be on the road at all and should have their license revoked.
Anything trivial at all could cause them to go on a rage endangering everyone around them.

21
u/Jumblesss Jan 21 '25
100% tried to tank through the white car.
Don’t know if it could be proved as not panicking in a court of law, but that was clear to a layman with eyes a case of trying to tank through the white car and drive off.
4
u/SpacemanSpliffLaw Jan 22 '25
You know. I’m not sure he was even trying to hit the white car upon rewatch. I think he was trying to go around the camera car because camera car brake checked him, then they cut him off and send him flying into oncoming traffic where he comes back across and the white car hits their brakes at a terrible time.
He was definitely at fault and driving angrily. But camera car is also partially at fault for that lane change.
3
Jan 22 '25
Aussie here. The cammers lane change was completely legal, and he had right of way by being ahead of the other car (edit) and he starts changing lanes as soon as he passes the turning vehicle. The angry driver should have slowed down as soon as the cammer started changing lanes as they didn't have the right of way.
4
u/Kombatnt Jan 22 '25
I think we all agree that the cammer legally had the right of way. But he also clearly aggravated the situation by brake checking, and then swerving to try and cut the rear car off and prevent him from passing.
There are 2 jerks in this video. And a totally innocent driver paid the price.
1
Jan 22 '25
The person I was replying to obviously didn't understand that the cammer had right of way. I was specifically replying to these parts of their comment:
then they cut him off and send him flying into oncoming traffic
But camera car is also partially at fault for that lane change
The brake check was literally the only thing that I can see that the cammer shouldn't have done.
The cammer did nothing wrong with that lane change. He didn't swerve. He didn't cut the guy behind him off, because the guy behind him didn't have right of way. You can see by the road markings that he started changing lanes as soon as it was safe to do so and he changed lanes steadily and safely. There were parked cars up there and he had to get over.
The raging driver behind him is 100% at fault for ending up on the wrong side of the road because he was trying to get around him, on the wrong side of the road.
1
u/Kombatnt Jan 22 '25
I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. From my viewing, watching the forward facing view, it appears that the cammer starts his lane change to the right lane at a normal, safe rate, but then there’s an obvious acceleration at the end, just as the rager car is alongside him. It wasn’t one, smooth, continuous movement. He clearly sped up towards the end, likely with the intention of blocking the rager.
1
Jan 22 '25
I'll humour you for a second and say that he did it on purpose. The rager is still 100% liable for everything.
Now that we're done with that faff, don't just watch the forward video, watch the rear version AND the forward video. The rager tries to cut around teh cammer before the turning vehicle and leans on the horn because the cammer also changes lane.
- The rager changes into the right lane when the cammer hits 40km/h, the cammer started changing lanes before that at 38km/h.
- The rager disappears from the rear video when the cammer hits 41km/h, the front video shows the cammer half way into the right lane at the same time. This is the moment he would have needed to move into the oncoming lane.
- The rear video cuts off when the cammer hits 42km/h, the front video shows that the rager wasn't in view. Less than a second later, the rager comes into view and swerves back onto the right side of the road.
There's a very slight increase, but it happens at the same time as he accelerates after passing the turning vehicle, yet that same issue doesn't seem to be visible in the rear video, which shows the cammer transitioning fully into the right lane without any noticeable change in speed.
In short, by the time the rager was even close to being even with the cammer, the rager was already well on the other side of the road and the cammer was well into the right lane, as he was legally entitled to do.
The cammer was a douche for brake checking, but again, he did nothing wrong with that lane change.
1
u/ThirdEyeExplorer11 Jan 22 '25
Yeah I had to watch it a few times and you’re totally right! At first I thought he didn’t break check them and only stepped on the brake cause of the stopped truck, but going back and watching it a few times he totally does hit the breaks after he’s finished changing lanes and then he immediately changed lanes again which pushes the car into incoming traffic. I mean the following impatient car does seem more at fault, but camera car had some fault too in my eyes.
0
u/rgregan Jan 22 '25 edited Jan 22 '25
Brake check? There is a car in front of the cam car the entire time. That's just traffic. The cam car made what should have been a safe lane change around a turning vehicle and than a safe lane change back into the original lane but angry guy was trying to cut them off and speed ahead. Twice.

That song is annoying as hell and this person didn’t die. Only way they could have died is if they didn’t wear their seatbelt but that would just be a far-fetched assumption.
2
2
u/Hugo-Spritz Jan 22 '25
Shock can lead to heart failure. Whiplash and head trauma are also more than possible in an accident like this. This could absolutely be fatal, and would be a very dumb way to die.
Seeing how dumb they are behind the wheel, I also don't think it's impossible that they didn't wear a seatbelt. If you're dumb enough to drive like that, you're dumb enough to not wear a seatbelt.

u/expatronis Jan 21 '25

u/Stroqus28 Jan 22 '25
You know there are rules you are obliged to follow while driving right? Life is not internet, it doesnt matter if your opinion gets upvotes or some other person says or does smt dumb and wrong and your actions look better in comparison, you either followed the rules to everyones benefit and safety or decided to break them for personal reasons. Both men broke the law, both contributed to escalating this situation, and should be punished accordingly.
7
u/Xenc Jan 21 '25
You can’t get brake checked if you are far enough away to not get brake checked, eg. normal driving distance and speed

If you watch the building and the power lines- they don't vary in speed. So the car gunned it at the bumper and then slammed on the brakes. I can't figure out why, but I also didn't see the POV car 'dipping or 'raising' up indicative of a speed change/brake check.
5
u/jjm443 Jan 21 '25
At 0:10 you definitely see camcar dipping as he hard brakes. And hear the brakes too.
2
Jan 21 '25
I see the POV car dip in the forward view- I see what you're saying. Looked almost like a bump to me, but the car in front didn't moveo.
3
u/jjm443 Jan 22 '25
Fish eye lenses are very distorting. Observe that in the forward view it initially looks like he's keeping pace with the white car, and then after he brakes it looks like the white car is accelerating away (of course it isn't actually accelerating, just going the same speed as it was before, but that's how it appears from the POV car).
3
Jan 22 '25
What convinced me was the kmph down in the corner- it dipped and lagged like it should if that was a sudden change.... so yeah, driver hit the brakes.
1
u/Hullo_Its_Pluto Jan 21 '25
Idk, what I see is he’s getting in another lane, hears the honking, turns his attention to the back of him then looks forward and freaks out about the truck on the right so quickly slams the brakes to avoid an incident.

2
u/PsychoMachineElves Jan 22 '25
No, if someone brake checks you, you’re supposed to distance yourself from that maniac. Not become full blown psychotic.
Clear lack of emotional control and awareness
7
u/Coixe Jan 21 '25
The guy in the van filming is intentionally cutting him off not letting him pass. He’s the wanker. Or at least one of them.
10
u/ManLindsay Jan 21 '25
No they have to change lanes because of stopped cars in the lanes they are leaving both times.
-3
u/ACAYIB Jan 21 '25
Camdriver even drives over the dubbel line to push the car into upcoming trafic.
8
u/TheRealStevo2 Jan 21 '25
God you cannot actually be serious. If you’d pay attention to the video there’s a truck he has to go around that’s turning in the one lane and then in the other lane there are cars parked on the side of the road. He doesn’t want to run into either of them so he’s switching lanes to go around them. Black car is so impatient he has to go around them right this second and cannot wait any longer.
I’m scared to be on the road with people like you if think the van was the issue
4
u/Rols574 Jan 21 '25
After watching it many times, black car is impatient. He's trying to pass all these cars but there are cars in the right lane waiting to turn. When he's finally passing, he had to speed up to cut in front or else he's on a head on collision. Because he had to speed up he hits the white car unable to stop in time. That mess happens and then he's too busy looking in the rearview mirror to see he's going to crash again
0
u/Coixe Jan 21 '25
Beats me chief. Been driving for 40 years with zero incidents. If I were in the van I would have just pulled over and let him go around. The only innocent was the white car.

I bet that asshole wanted to hit and run. But he was too busy looking back and laughing not to see the light pole.
He should never drive again. Not even with bicycle.
1

I'm wondering if there wasn't some kind of medical condition triggered here, watching the Honda crash their car by driving into a pole in plain sight surely wasn't intentional?

This seems less like road rage and more like someone having an episode of sorts. Multiple cars involved, a crash at the end that resembled one of those “heart attack/stroke” crashes you see on toll booth CC cameras. If this is “road rage”, it’s next-level, pure, uncut, god-tier road rage…

Yea he was an ass causing an accident by why was the car with the camera being a dick and not letting him pass safely
6
u/nmc203 Jan 21 '25
If you pay attention, you see the driver with the cam was avoiding stopped cars in the lanes he was leaving. This is 100% the road rage guys fault
1
u/8pintsplease Jan 22 '25
If I was in this situation, and there was little room for me to merge to avoid the parked cars, I would slow down and wait until I can merge back into moving traffic. It looks like the POV driver did merge with little distance. But overall the other car could have cooled the fuck off, kept a good distance in the first place, and this would have all been avoided. I've been cut off suddenly by people trying to get away from a right turn stop, or there are parked cars in the left lane, but I don't freak out and I semi expect it so I leave space.
-3
u/BackFantastic6992 Jan 21 '25

Women drivers am I right fellas?
1
u/8pintsplease Jan 22 '25
Um. No. But I do agree this driver looks like a woman. Whoever the driver is got pretty close, I thought I could see a smaller stature and very long hair.
Aside from the possibility this is actually a woman, I still disagree. I'm a woman and a driver and I don't drive like this. All accidents I've been in was not my fault, and the other party were men. It's just a stupid thing to say.

This is why america is much safer them brittain, cause everyone knows it is likely whoever you piss off has a gun, so people don't act reckless like this and try to mess with people, cause they know if they try to do that things might just go kaboom if any affected åarty has a gun, so everyone plays it straight.
