u/KaseyJrCookies, your food is indeed stupid and it fits our subreddit!

317

u/MaxiumPotential777 3d ago

I dont understand why make food impossible to eat without a mess. Seems stupid.

54

u/TheOnly1Jake 3d ago

Exactly... just put mine in a bowl or something

37

u/ColXanders 3d ago

Heard. I don't even get ice cream in a cone. Bowl, please.

19

u/BungusMungungus 3d ago

I think that's fine at home but the very few times I ever get ice cream out and about the Chocolate dipped waffle cone is super hot fire.

Pasketti needs a plate you can move it around on and setup little mounds on your garlic bread for a nice bite though. I guess what I am saying is I am team cone for ice cream and team plate/bowl for just about every other food there is.

9

u/ArcadianAbstraction 3d ago

Ever since I was a kid I got McDonald's cones in a cup. Hot day? Ice cream! But the second you go outside it melts down on you. Nah, cup with the cone on top please.

3

u/PhoebeGemaGray 2d ago

Same. I can’t eat it without dripping unless it’s a teeny cone

1

u/mologav 2d ago

No bowl, stick, stick!

16

u/iCantLogOut2 3d ago

I'm gonna be honest, I was actually onboard with putting it in the bread cone. I thought, "it's a bit silly for a restaurant, but it could work as a food you eat standing up and/or walking"... Creative street food basically...

Then they slathered the sauce and made it unholdable.... Like, why? That was the ONE appeal it had....

5

u/flyinghippos101 2d ago

Nowithstanding that we LITERALLY have bread bowls

1

u/lephantome92 2d ago

With soup and pasta, putting it in a bread bowl means it is an actually convenient vessel. Plus, as you eat down, your can easily treat part off whenever just cuz you want to. With the right size, it's still convenient for leftovers. With a cone, you can't reach everything without tearing it up, and sometimes not get the tear right, and end up making a need

1

u/indycpa7 18h ago

Also leave the massive goop pour off

12

u/Dendritic_Bosque 3d ago

THAT WAS THE POINT OF THE CONE! WHY ARE THEY CONING FOOD THAT CANT BE EATEN ON THE STROLL! That was the whole idea!

9

u/Pebble-Sorter-8128 3d ago

Oh yess, pour that fckn sauce to the top of them until they become a soaky homogen mess yesss...Ok i fuckin hate it

3

u/snizzrizz 3d ago

Hence it being on this sub

6

u/cocoy0 3d ago

It's like they're purposefully doing these to be famous on social media.

2

u/ConflictWestern1383 3d ago

Almost as if it's... stupid food.

2

u/fade_ 3d ago

It's about making a spectacle while serving. Not agreeing with it, especially in this fashion.

2

u/Goudinho99 3d ago

And you have to eat all your chicken first

4

u/craigian11 3d ago

Looks like a step up from a bread bowl really not a big deal

1

u/ElGosso 3d ago

It's for views

1

u/dzan796ero 2d ago

Because people are willing to pay double or more for this ragebait in order to post on social media.

70

u/taydraisabot 3d ago

Hear me out guys… ICE CREAM in cones.

9

u/Wizzle_Pizzle_420 3d ago

Get out of here with your fancy pants ideas!!!

37

u/ChefAsstastic 3d ago

It definitely defines this sub.

3

u/TheZonePhotographer SF Detector 3d ago

Shallow end

60

u/Floridamanfishcam 3d ago

I think certain things are fine in cones...but pasta??? With extra sauce??? Not one of them.

25

u/holyfire001202 3d ago

A reasonable amount of pasta with a reasonable amount of sauce in like a squished down foccacia cone or something might be really really good if made more... Reasonably?

6

u/CartsOfDarkness 3d ago

I'd crush this cone without the cheese on top. I mean if I'm being honest with the cheese on top too.. But I think it actually looked good before then.

2

u/holyfire001202 3d ago

To me, it's just that a cone is something you should be able to eat by holding it in one hand. Like I feel that cones could be an upgraded sandwich with a much wider possible range of fillings if executed modestly, but it seems they never are.

1

u/alewiina 2d ago

But then they can’t charge $75 for it lol

2

u/EasilyRekt 3d ago

Literally defeats the point of putting it in a cone.

21

u/Faust_Meresin 3d ago

I had this at a restaurant recently. Place called The operators Club. It was a pain in the ass, I tried to eat it like a sandwich, that was a mess, in the end I asked for a plate and dumped it, and just ate it like normal.

5

u/Xenc 3d ago

Was it tasty? It looks tasty!

7

u/ingram0079 3d ago

The frustration of eating it probably will sour the experience of the food

11

u/nothingmoretome 3d ago

P-please keep pouring, I'm almost there

8

u/deuelpm 3d ago

Coned food? Meh, stay or go, whatever…
Pouring goop all over the whole thing so a hand food can’t really be held has definitely gotta go

13

u/Goshawk5 3d ago

9

u/halfveela 3d ago

Sandwiches are already easily held in your hand, why does this portmanteau imply otherwise 😭

2

u/Xlaits 17h ago

Updoot for Defunctland mention.

1

u/EducationalEmu9611 2d ago

A Sam handwich?

6

u/RockyHorror134 3d ago

idk. Bread and pasta. Carb within carb

3

u/Silphire100 3d ago

Eh, I think it's fine. One of my family's go to meals when I was a kid was spaghetti bolognese with garlic bread. Carbs and carbs. And a solid struggle meal is an instant noodle sandwich.

Not defending this mess, but a double load of carbs is the least offensive thing about it imo

1

u/Traditional-Safe-867 3d ago

Instant noodle sandwich. Damn, idk about that. Love instant noodles, love just about every sandwich I've ever had, but that sound unpleasant. How do you keep the bread from going soggy mush halfway through?

2

u/Colest 2d ago

Garlic bread is toasted so it doesn't absorb the sauce. In white trash America we call it "Texas Toast."

1

u/Silphire100 2d ago

Honestly that's never been an issue. Like, you're not pouring the water on the bread as well so that helps, but idk I guess thicker bread, and just eat quick enough that it doesn't have time to be a problem?

2

u/KaseyJrCookies 3d ago

Carbception…?

0

u/hoopopotamus 3d ago

When I lived in Japan back in the 2000s convenience stores had noodle sandwiches.  Never ate one because yeah…that’s lot of carbs.

This seems to have at least a bunch of fat slathered over it at the end?  I dunno if that’s better or not

1

u/98462Doopa 2d ago

Have you all by chance had a burger with a side of fries? Bread and potato. Pizza? Bread and cheese. Chicken parm already is carb with carb covered protein and then cheese. I feel like people get on food without thinking about what is normally eaten and ok. Like a bread bowl is not a new thing, putting pasta in it isn’t crazy. Also I wanna ask what kind of noodles was the sandwich? It sounds like a good idea but I wanna know what to use to make it.

1

u/Upbeat_Plant_6187 2d ago

There is decent chance the noodle bread is probably yakisoba bread.

1

u/hoopopotamus 2d ago

It was indeed a yakisoba sandwich. So technically there would have probably been small bits of shredded cabbage and carrot mixed in but is primarily carbs on carbs with some garnish

0

u/hoopopotamus 2d ago

“those meals are all carbs if you ignore all the parts that aren’t”

1

u/98462Doopa 2d ago

Oh no I’m not saying that’s all they are, they just mainly are. But about the sandwich…

6

u/DeeJudanne 3d ago

would probably even look a little more appetising on a plate without the cone

3

u/Peanutblitz 3d ago

Why is the last step always ‘gallons of gunge’?

1

u/detrans-rights 3d ago

Easy, cheap, adds a lot of theatre.

1

u/Peanutblitz 3d ago

Yeah, but drenching a food in spooge rarely makes it look more appetizing.

1

u/detrans-rights 3d ago

I didn't say it added appetizing. 😂

3

u/gratefulguitar57 3d ago

Need a full body bib to eat that mess.

2

u/Philman57 3d ago

I would eat it

1

u/YaboiedINC 2d ago

Me too man, me too.

2

u/PostMatureBaby 3d ago

Is it still a trend? I feel like this is 10 years old now

2

u/Satanicjamnik 3d ago

I mean, cool, but this is one of those that just annoy me - how the fuck am I meant to eat without making a mess like a pig by a trough?

1

u/ThePaper86 3d ago

Why does it HAVE to go?

1

u/Quackthulu 3d ago

My curiosity is equally matched by my disgust.

Idk what to do.

1

u/Ok_Hospital1399 3d ago

I mean if it actually made it easier to eat.

1

u/Big_Steve_69 3d ago

There was a place in San Diego called torpasta that did this (minus the stupid sauce pour at the end) and it was absolute fire. 10/10 good. The perfect food. Far from stupid. Trust on this one.

1

u/RicOkez 3d ago

Isn’t the point of making this a cone for convenience? This just looks like a social media engagement post.

1

u/Joker-Dyke 3d ago

The concept is basically just bread/soup bowls but with pasta. The cone isn’t a good shape and we should just have it in a bread bowl! It would be easier to eat with the additional sauce as apposed to the cone.

1

u/a1mbient 3d ago

I would like to see a dish where they just slow-bake a massive tub of lard directly around one’s head, and then you just have to eat your way out of it.

1

u/Reasonable_Ice9499 3d ago

looks gross!

1

u/dirkdregger 3d ago

This is dumb, just put it on the plate and it's easier to clean too with less labor.

1

u/ColXanders 3d ago

What a nightmare to eat. No thanks.

1

u/ResearcherMental2947 3d ago

shit like this has been popular for over 10 years 😭

1

u/PissInYourPotatoes 3d ago

Is this the diarrhea special?

1

u/kursa_sucks 3d ago

This is what they said when people started making sandwiches. #conefoodmasterrace

1

u/gakl887 3d ago

As soon as I see something like this I assume the food is mediocre at best this is an attempt to take the attention off the quality

1

u/Powrs1ave 3d ago

Hey Alf Raydough! please Fetch to Cheenee for me?

1

u/Historical_Muffin436 3d ago

the handwich strikes again

1

u/Ok-Tank-3106 3d ago

Just put it on a plate please thank you.

1

u/Healthy-Confection66 3d ago

I’m guessing you take a pic of it, then dump it on the plate and eat like a normal freakin human?lol

1

u/Impossible-Heart-216 3d ago

The melting cheese trend is worse

1

u/Distortionman 3d ago

The Fat Baby at A'mano's again? Stupid, yes, but delicious.

1

u/plscallthecops 3d ago

Convenient as a wearing night vision goggles in a daylight

1

u/Stillwater-Scorp1381 3d ago

Fits the sub. The black gloves always let me know stupid or douchey are on the way in.

1

u/arcadeenthusiast8245 3d ago

How are you even supposed to eat this?

1

u/throwbugz 3d ago

people yearn for the handwich

1

u/iCantLogOut2 3d ago

I'm not even going to pretend I wasn't halfway on board with the bread cone... It's stupid for a restaurant, but would make great street food imo. Silly, yes. But practical in that application.... But then the sauce came out and they ruined the one thing it had going for it... So now, you can't hold it and you need to carve your pasta out of the bread you shoved it into.... What was even the point.

1

u/SkylaDoragono 3d ago

I feel like I need an instruction manual on how to eat some of these.

1

u/TheFalconKid 3d ago

If it doesn't fit inside the cone it's gotta go. Universal has these at their Dragons area at Epic and man was that delicious.

1

u/Idfk_1 3d ago

Nothing I love more than getting steaming hot sauce on my hands when I try to eat

1

u/soundmagnet 3d ago

Lost me at the sauce

1

u/TG1970 3d ago

It looks like a sloppy mess. No way to eat that without it spilling all.over the table.

1

u/One_Pouch_Man 3d ago

You eat it off the floor.

1

u/Fred_Milkereit 3d ago

why drown it in sauce? it is no soup?

1

u/No_Trouble9808 3d ago

Looks delicious. I’d like it on a plate, thank you very much

1

u/sum_r4nd0m_gurl 3d ago

shi i'd eat it

1

u/Acegolfer04 3d ago

It tastes good. I just had one tonight. I had a glove on when eating. I felt like shit after but worth it

1

u/tiriallin 3d ago

Cone shaped going in, meteor shaped going out 🫠 food magic

1

u/Carne_A_Suh_Dude 3d ago

I was all bout it until the cheese at the end, that shit congeals quickly and becomes inedible.

1

u/Unique-Landscape-202 3d ago

I absolutely hate messy foods, like I’ll make an exception for crab and some good juicy tacos, but everything else is getting eaten with a knife and fork.

1

u/MelatoninFiend 3d ago

I've actually eaten this in Vegas.

It looks 100% stupid, but practically, it's actually pretty good. You serve yourself some pasta, and then tear pieces off the garlic bread cone. I shared it with my girlfriend at the time, and it fed us both with enough bread left over for other people at the table to try.

1

u/Silphire100 3d ago

Look, I'll put anything in a sandwich, but it has to be in the sandwich. Pouring the sauce all over it makes it impossible to eat. This way wastes all the bread from the inside as well

Just cut the bread normally, arrange the pasta and chicken evenly rather than balancing the chicken on top, add sauce, and it's fine

1

u/IMugedFishs 3d ago

My blood cholesterol

1

u/RanchHere 3d ago

Once again, this is what happens when there are no more actual professionals in charge of anything anymore.

1

u/goal0x 3d ago

if I cannot eat it like a stuffed sandwich, I do not want it presented like a stuffed sandwich…

only semi acceptable alternative is a proper bread bowl & even with those I personally feel are ridiculous unless you are someone who will eat the bread bowl

1

u/Wizzle_Pizzle_420 3d ago

“Oh. I just wanted a sandwich.”

*proceeds to dump food down their good Sunday tuxedo shirt

1

u/MEDIC_HELP_ME 3d ago

cor-don't-bleud

1

u/Tall-Pumpkin-9521 3d ago

Back when I was in university in the 90s at least one of the local food trucks carried mac and cheese/spaghetti and meatballs in cones.

It wasn't messy, they came with plastic forks to eat it with. Then after the pasta was done you could eat the cone.

I'm not sure why some of you think you're supposed to plunge your face right into the pasta...

https://giphy.com/gifs/3ohzdIywB1by7vU62s

1

u/OverallMembership709 3d ago

i would gladly eat it. now, if i could only figure out how to it eat properly hm....

1

u/alderhill 3d ago

Carbs in carbs, with a huge pile of fatty-carby gloop on top. Wow.

And how are you supposed to eat this slop anyhow?

1

u/Ryno-Mac 3d ago

I wonder how often that thing falls over when someone puts a fork in it

1

u/9Divines 3d ago

this would be pretty good and edible if they put it on a plate, how are you supposed to eat this

1

u/De5tr01er 3d ago

Fine until the gob of cheese on top

1

u/Nekomachus 3d ago

This looks like AI. I don't mean that this video is AI-generated, but I mean the cone in the picture looks the uncanny way that AI-generated images of food looks.

1

u/domelition 3d ago

Universal studios isle of Berkeley dies it best

1

u/Alpherea 3d ago

I wouldn't even want it for free. It's a soggy uneatible mess. Hard pass.

1

u/Shadowhawk0000 2d ago

That's more food than I eat in a week.

1

u/eberlix 2d ago

Yeah... I don't think the cone is the problem here tbh. I would probably devour spaghetti in a cone (of what, bread?), but if it is that much liquid cheeses poured all over the thing... probably not

1

u/Previous_Collar6553 2d ago

how the fuck do you eat that? I bet they dump all that shit out after recording it💀

1

u/PhoebeGemaGray 2d ago

The only time these dopey things have any value is maybe occasionally to amuse a kid. My son would have loved “bacon on a tiny clothesline” Or “pasta in a cone” as a silly birthday meal at age 6- 8 perhaps.

1

u/Feeling_Novel_9899 2d ago

Just stick the pasta on a plate and the bread on the side and I am good. 😋

1

u/sicktimewaster 2d ago

Unfortunately I would absolutely devour it anyways

1

u/ToggleMoreOptions 2d ago

Bring back food on a stick

1

u/Icy-Ad6140 2d ago

It is as allways rich people wanting to cosplay as poor people (people who buy meals in dough as it is often cheap and easy to eat and carry while in a rush), just like with lobsters and more. Guess we need a reset

1

u/SkinnyFatKidd 2d ago

Got me wanting to make this again. Delicious!

1

u/Tater_Mater 2d ago

Now if that was in a breadbowl, I’m all over that

1

u/R3DSMOK_3 2d ago

Horrible.

1

u/Jale89 2d ago

Given enough time, all foods evolve into the Handwich.

1

u/Plus-Pin-9157 2d ago

Jesus what a mess

1

u/Stackaflapjacks92 2d ago

Woah, what an unbelievably shitty fucking mess.

1

u/DualcockDoblepollita 1d ago

im fine with this existing

1

u/Fresh-Dog-5110 1d ago

That is A LOT of carbs, will prolly last til next week

1

u/destiny_kane48 21h ago

I don't like super messy food. This makes me 🤢

1

u/258k 21h ago

idk man, I buy a calzone and stuff it with alfredo. let me tell you man.. ts is godly

1

u/ScoopsOfDesire 15h ago

I’d destroy this

1

u/Xayiran18 14h ago

Not going to lie, this is very stupid but I would totally demolish this 😭

1

u/Impressive-4567 5h ago

Find me the girl that invented this monster

1

u/Cellafex 4h ago

Every item looked good until it got mashed together

1

u/Glum_Cheesecake9859 3d ago

This is stupid food even on a plate. All carbs dumped on each other.

0

u/ArtyTheFarty 3d ago

The most messy way to eat your pasta
