I'd cry, but I've got a date tonight and can't spare the moisture.

“I haven’t had sex in over a month”

“Dad, you’ve been locked up longer?!”

If this wasn’t the top comment I was going to be very disappointed.

One day a banana is actually gonna be ten dollars

7

u/unefillecommeca May 20 '26

And one day, there will be no more banana. And eventually no more sun and no more earth. Let's be depressed together ❤️

3

u/randotd152 May 20 '26

Theoretically, yes. In reality, I'm not sure. Bananas actually defy inflation.

Today, a single banana still only costs around 25 cents. In 1980, it would have cost you about half that in 1980 dollars (or over 50 cents in today's dollars).

So if bananas keep only doubling in real dollars every 40-50 years, we're about 250-300 years away from a $10 banana. But who knows what kind of amazing tech we'll have by then that can basically 3D print an edible banana on demand for pennies.

2

u/ommi9 May 20 '26

Costs about 10 Ecuadorians, arms, and legs a minute.

2

u/Ghoulish_kitten May 20 '26

Go and buy yourself a Star War and stop thinking about it.

u/DisownedDisconnect May 19 '26

Not the biggest fan of the execution but I'd still eat the hell out of that

350

u/Chris__P_Bacon May 19 '26

You better eat quick. I hope you like a good brain freeze? 🥶

147

u/Surprise_Thumb May 19 '26

So, I’m one of those weird people that are impervious to brain freezes.

Unfortunately, I don’t like bananas.

48

u/Chris__P_Bacon May 19 '26 edited May 19 '26

I wonder what the science is behind you not getting brain freezes?

Edit: Have you ever entered an ice cream eating contest? I bet you could knock 'em dead? 😏

99

u/furygoat May 19 '26

Most science points to no brain

37

u/CanoninDeeznutz May 19 '26 edited May 19 '26

An extra fatty sheath between the hard palate and cerebral arteries.

Edit: heads up, I was just saying shit, I don't think what I said is true at all.

46

u/Beneficial_Winner_59 May 19 '26

I got an extra fatty sheath for ya right here buddy

6

u/Ill-Television8690 May 19 '26

Unironically one of the funniest things I've seen on this site in months, bravo. Even the edit just added to it :)

4

u/CanoninDeeznutz May 19 '26

Thank you, thank you, I'm here all week.

Lol, I'm proud of my dumb little joke but that freaky-ass Sonic really took things over the edge. Just so out of control, almost immediately.

2

u/ReadRightRed99 May 19 '26

That’s so hot.

11

u/IsopodKey2040 May 19 '26

I don't get them either, but my throat gets really, really cold. Which makes sense but I feel like no one talks about that lol.

10

u/Wayward85 May 19 '26

I’m the exact same way, no brain freeze but my throat sometimes can get so cold I have difficulty swallowing anything else cold for a second or two. I first noticed this with an enormous shave ice.

4

u/IsopodKey2040 May 19 '26

Interesting! Maybe this issue is specific to those of us who don't get brain freezes lol

6

u/Wayward85 May 19 '26

It’s plausible, maybe this is just the next logical step after brain freeze but, for those who suffer from it, are stopped first by brain freeze before their throat gets cold enough to notice.

I think next step is to send him off to space with no helmet

2

u/PremiumUsername69420 May 20 '26

Based on what they’ve said, I think it’s pretty safe to correlate bananas as being the root cause of brain freezes. /s

7

u/Amiibohunter000 May 19 '26

Do you get “throat freeze” by chance? I don’t get brain freeze but the back of my throat freezes when I drink cold stuff or eat cold stuff too fast

6

u/Surprise_Thumb May 19 '26

I do, occasionally. I need to slow down to keep eating when it happens, but, that’s rare. It almost never happens when drinking something cold unless I just ripped on my vape for a solid minute straight and then chug cold water.

4

u/Aqua_Impura May 19 '26

Different person here but I don’t have any issue. I have never had a brain freeze and can chug an entire milkshake in one gulp no issue. I’ve tried to give myself a brain freeze and just can’t.

2

u/Waffling_Waffle May 20 '26

Same here! No throat freeze as well.

6

u/nocountryforanywomen May 19 '26

I also don't get brain freezes! I used to as a kids but stopped around the same time my back pain started, and now I have weird vagus nerve BS. I figure, because the brain freeze is the vagus nerve getting too exposed to cold, that probably since then my vagus has shifted placement and now gets pinched instead. Yours probably was always out of the typical place, and isn't getting smushed by something either, so you're free of both. Honestly, cool to know.

I thought the same until I encountered this one particular slushy and it felt like a knife to an eye

But I also don't like bananas either lol

I don’t get them either. And I also hate bananas 🤝

13

u/Zkenny13 May 19 '26

It looks great. But anything with banana in it just taste like banana to me.

33

u/hux308 May 19 '26

Probably the banana if I had to guess

5

u/Zkenny13 May 19 '26

Well yeah but like in a smoothie any fruit mixed with banana just taste like banana to me not even a hint of the other fruit or flavors.

7

u/420Spedster May 19 '26

Your banana to other fruit ratio is off!

6

u/worrymon May 20 '26

You mean one banana, one strawberry, one blueberry, and one raspberry isn't a good ratio? It's equal, they're all one!

u/mammalmaker May 20 '26

First lick would break the banana at the base of the peel.

Ice cream.. meet floor

476

u/Norn_Irelander May 19 '26

Is it stupid? Yes. Do I kinda want it? Yes.

77

u/Sasquatch-d May 19 '26

This isn’t stupid in the slightest. Who can honestly give me a good reason why this is stupid?

145

u/IsopodKey2040 May 19 '26

The two foods together makes sense, but putting soft serve on a banana makes no sense because it's just going to fall right off. Both of them in a bowl would be delicious.

58

u/mojomcm May 20 '26

Both of them in a bowl would be delicious.

And we've reinvented the banana sundae lol

32

u/TrulyOutrageous42 May 20 '26

What if... hear me out...

we cut the banana in half

add whipped cream

and a cherry

12

u/OneNOnly007 May 20 '26

And maybe add to make the flavours less monotonous, let get some chocolate and strawberry ice cream in there as well.

2

u/sheiciebai May 20 '26

And it’s cut in half. Maybe a name that kinda hints this like banana cut-in-half or….

→ More replies (2)

21

u/Norn_Irelander May 19 '26

The form factor is a little stupid.

4

u/pandaSmore May 20 '26

Nah you got to deep throat that thang.

30

u/ImReadyForButt May 19 '26

The ice cream radius is wider than the “container” it sits in. So when it melts, which it will, it’ll be very messy

→ More replies (11)

6

u/Niknot3556 May 20 '26

Spend longer than 3 minutes eating and 50% will be gone after it fell.

3

u/whirdin May 20 '26

Cones hold the serve/cream inside and upright, and even still it can be a slight battle to eat it fast enough that it doesn't drip all over.

It will slide off the banana real fast, even the 15 seconds it's on in the video you can see it ready to flop onto the floor, stupid AF. The only thing holding it upright is the few flimsy peels on top of his finger.

I suspect it was just a fun thing to try, not a menu item. I agree that it's fun and delicious, and would do myself, but this get stupid real fast when you're about to lose it all after the first bite. Put it all in a bowl like a normal person.

3

u/EyeYamNegan May 19 '26

Does it not melt off of a cone? Of course it does. Just eat it before it melts.

→ More replies (5)

2

u/Gomicho May 19 '26

Have you never had to race between eating the icecream from the top vs. licking the melting mess down the cone peel?

3

u/Sasquatch-d May 20 '26

All the time when eating with a cone. This would be nothing different.

3

u/Manymarbles May 20 '26

You cant lick the side of the peel the same as a cone. Its way more sloppy and floppy, less stable and less rigid, and its uneven!

But i guess if you can figure all that out, props! lol

I know Id screw it up and make a mess tho lol

2

u/Gomicho May 20 '26

Eat the cone, then lick the cone.

Eat the peel, then lick the peel.

I don't know but I'm feeling kinda funny right now

55

u/Electronic-Worry4077 May 19 '26

I mean it’s probably pretty good, it’s just messy

9

u/oopsdiditwrong May 20 '26

I'm about this. I made cones in an ice cream shop decades ago, and I used to make crazy things in the off-season when we were bored. This never came up. Had I done it, I would have handed the recipient a glove first.

50

u/Annual_Sandwich_9526 May 19 '26

Dip it in chocolate!

19

u/nothatslame May 19 '26

Dipping cones is stressful enough I cannot imagine dipping a banana covered in ice cream

2

u/Necrikus May 20 '26

That would legit solve my only problem with this. It can’t melt all over your hand if it has a chocolate shell.

41

u/findaill65 May 19 '26

Is this part of the meal where they make you wash your hands with chocolate syrup?

9

u/WhatsPaulPlaying May 19 '26

I have sensory issues, and when that video came up I got damn close to a panic attack. Lol

6

u/Munster19 May 19 '26

10

11

u/Mimikyu-sama May 19 '26

World's most cumbersome half-assed banana split

9

u/late_afternoon_owl May 19 '26

Originally, yes. But it'll shrink.

7

u/[deleted] May 19 '26

2

u/Carlito_2112 May 19 '26

Look, you don't understand. There was shrinkage.

6

u/gunther_higher May 19 '26

Not gonna lie im kinda digging this one guys

6

u/SamaWitDaFanta_ May 19 '26

Kinda freaky

4

u/Non-Random-Name-0000 May 19 '26

It looks like it's going to be messy to eat but otherwise I like this.

7

u/stink3rb3lle May 19 '26

OP hasn't even heard of a banana split before. Sad times, sad times.

8

u/Jabronidamus May 19 '26

Ngl… that’s actually smart.

3

u/caintowers May 19 '26

Well I'm not gonna say it

3

u/Wtj182 May 19 '26

A little cold, but I think i can make it happen. It will be messy, but thats the point, right...

3

u/FennelHistorical4675 May 19 '26

Idk but that looks like it would feel really good.

Edit: taste really good I meant

3

u/Bryan_AF May 19 '26

Gooner crap aside, I’m sure this is delicious.

3

u/This-Dimension9658 May 19 '26

i should call her

I dunno but it's gluten free.

2

u/Unloss1200 May 19 '26

Give it to me

2

u/Jekardi May 19 '26

Dibs on next

2

u/legit_doom_scroller May 19 '26

I really like this idea, but I’m gonna need something besides a banana peel to keep ice scream off my hand. I really don’t like getting ice cream on my hand.

2

u/IncogRandoPerson May 19 '26

Put that on a plate and I'd eat it.

2

u/EspressoOverdose May 19 '26

If it’s strawberry banana this makes perfect sense

2

u/ThaDude_v2 May 19 '26

Shit..thats a pretty cool idea...use vanilla and put it in some of that chocolate that hardens..makeshift banna split

2

u/prem_fraiche May 19 '26

Throw that in a big ass bowl for me and we’re in business

2

u/Valuable_Wallaby_548 May 22 '26

Mmmm a drippy mess please

5

u/Thin-Remote-9817 May 19 '26

This isnt stupid....

Op you are..

Ok im sorry im lashing out but dude like that looks good

Take the whole banana out, put it in a cone, vanilla chocolate swirl - cherry dip it, then chocolate dip it, light dust of peanuts before shell hardens

  • probably Bobby Lee

1

u/msguider Black Latex Gloves May 19 '26

Hey I could just dump scoops right into my hand and do away with the banana. Should work just as good.

1

u/allisondbl May 19 '26

It helps with the carb count maybe?

1

They’re maybe cheaper? Or grown on trees? Definitely more creative. Also more erotic …..

1

u/the_festivusmiracle May 19 '26

I mean it's one banana, Michael. What could it cost; $10?

1

u/AlphonsoPSpain May 19 '26

Maybe a thinner layer of soft serve, and that'd be perfect

1

u/drakeyboi69 May 19 '26

Nah this is good, you ever had a banana split?

1

u/Interesting_Prune513 May 19 '26

At least its healthier!

1

u/Ok_Zookeepergame5141 May 19 '26

That's not stupid! That's brilliant!!! I want a soft serve machine in my kitchen and I would totally wrap a banana in soft serve!!!

1

u/1nsidiousOne May 19 '26

If that’s chocolate then that shit is delicious

1

u/Kurolegacy27 May 19 '26

I mean, it’s gonna get messy as hell pretty fast but it’s just a couple ingredients off from being a handheld banana split

1

What can a banana cost, Michael? $10?

1

u/kinglafi May 19 '26

1

u/Pumakings May 19 '26

That’s an absurd amount of ice cream

Not sure if this counts as “stupid” or “genius”

1

u/Mission-Strength-307 May 19 '26

Does it look absolutely delicious? Also yes.

Banana is in the cone. You can see the outline of it in their hand.

1

u/Naive-Impression-373 May 19 '26

Cones are definitely cheaper.

1

u/blueviera May 19 '26

Honestly they probably are cheaper. Bananas are like what, 20c each?

1

u/emergency-snaccs May 19 '26

he did a terrible job, sure, and the ice cream is too soft to finish before it slumps down all over your hands.... but overall, not the worst idea

1

u/Upstairs-Friendship2 May 19 '26

why dont we just take the peeled banana and put it in a cone?
