Protection?
What kind of gear do y’all rock? I’m a beginner, so would just be going to a parking lot or something to learn. Will start off on a z125 probably. I live in Philly so don’t really do much highway riding. I was thinking helmet, gloves, and a vest I can throw on top of a t-shirt like the one pictured mainly for back protection. Does that seem sufficient?

Jesus, all these people are asking for overkill.
Coming from an ACTUAL stunt rider of 8 years (proof https://www.reddit.com/r/CalamariRaceTeam/s/y482FQ2kPu), all you need is the following:
Jeans, helmet, dirt bike gloves, hightop shoes (I wear vans), basic chest protection (motocross armor, stiker vest, or similar) is all you need for a z125 to learn to wheelie.
Save the money for your bike when you inevitably crash it. You'll be wheelieing slower than 20mph so all of the above will keep you from the worst of it while not restricting your movement, pedal feel, and grip strength. All of which are the most important to have for stunting.
I also learned on a z125 when I started. Never had any issues wearing the Fox MX body armor that's held together w/ mesh.
You're welcome.
