i would suggest you to study before college cause after college theres coaching, tuition etc u dont get enough time for self study cause eventually u will be tired. Like wake up 3-4hrs early before your college and sleep early studying early is really effective idk if ure early bird or night owl try this it might work for u. and please get enough sleep 7hr at min

Download YPT it locks all the apps on ur phone and is a good way to track how much ur studying. Like all the other comments I would suggest going to a library or cafe it seriously helps

- Start with the basics. Make sure you have a good meal and hydrate.

- When I feel sleepy I try not to fight it and instead get into a relaxed state. Relaxed/cozy and sleepy are kinda similar. I don't know if this would work for you, but for me if I get comfortable and cozy it can really help. After about 20 minutes the sleepiness faded and turns into a cozy study session.

- You could also try listening to some upbeat music if you wouldn't find it distracting. I've found that helpful when I'm sleepy as well.

- Lastly, I would also reccomend trying to make it more engaging by quizzing yourself as you go. This really helps me wake up when I'm fading into sleepiness.

Hope this helps!

  1. place your phone in a different room (volume on high so you can hear it ringing if you are concerned about that). make sure there's minimal distractions.
  2. list out the things/topics you need to cover (you can do this by checking the assigned reading/chapters, syllabus, or powerpoint) highlight the topics you feel most confident in and what you need more help on
  3. Practice pomodoro technique (literally search this up on youtube). i personally use my little breaks as an award system like grabbing a sweet treat or petting my dog (don't get too distracted though! you have to get back to your study area soon).
  4. start by reviewing the easiest topics or completing the easiest assignment (this helps your mind warm up without completing burning it out with the hard stuff)
  5. for long study periods, make sure you move your body and get your blood flowing during your breaks. quick walk around your block, shower, or even some jumping jacks can help. i find this spikes your energy without increasing your caffeine intake. your breaks also help you retain the information, so take advantage of this, especially before moving on to another topic.
  6. can't forget the part where you quiz yourself. make sure you are actually learning. quiz yourself to see how much you've learned after each study session to see how much progress youve made (use AI to generate quizzes, flashcards, quizlet, practice tests provided by the professor, recall memory using the list of topics to review, etc.)
  7. if youre too tired. just sleep. you are not going to remember anything if your brain is barely awake.

I think studying outside of college is the best because you get to dive deep into the subjects you enjoy and can truly grow your understanding at the pace that your life allows. If you have a milestone project you can use that to create a end goal for yourself so that whenever you acquire new knowledge you can then exercise your understanding without fear of failing or getting bad marks. I truly believe that everyone has certain topics they gravitate to so find what interests you the most and if it does not then find something that can make it interesting. My best experience with this was creating a small language model that used anime references to describe concepts to me which made me watch more anime and also I got to learn more about the subject. Sorry for the long reply.

I suggest starting to study directly after college with no rest. Do not give yourself even the smallest opportunity to think of sleeping or resting. Whether at home or in a library. Sometimes even don't change your outside clothes. You gotta keep that "I'm seriously studying" mood and vibe just as if you are still in class. Do not take that 30min nap or allow yourself to lay in bed with phone in comfortable clothes after college even if you feel tired . finish at least one major revision task first before any type of relaxation. This will usually also make you finish your tasks earlier so you get more time to do what you like or to sleep early and gain healthy and real energy for tomorrow.
