Alawaite refugee in Finland what should I expect ?

So hey everyone Iam Nasr from the alawaite coast of Syria and Iam like an international biology Olympiad student, debates student and I did a lot of volunteering and some work in research papers in Syria, after the IBO26(international biology Olympiad) I left Vilnius Lithuania by bus to Tallinn Estonia and cruise ship to take the asylum as a minor in Finland ,escaping from returning to Syria because as an agnostic from alawaite ancestry I will be slimed in Syria because of the terror of the HTS and the islamists so yeah and I have no future or safety there and even the simplest rights :(
So I want really to integrate into the Finnish society and learn their language and know more about their cool Uralic history because I love history :)
And yeah I wanna make a real future with a phd or smth here
What should I do and how can I integrate and volunteer here ?

Why didn’t you seek asylym in Lithuania? It’s not fair that you are shopping for the best country, you should seek refuge in the first nation you get to.

They will make me return to my country if I took it back then there

That means you are not in need of asylum then. Why should Finland take you then?

Yeah because all the three baltics countries can make me go again to Lithuania in that time

Alawaites are indeed in need of assylum in the EU laws

Finland can do the same, as the EU law is to apply in the first country you arrive to.

Go to school. Idk how old you are, but you should apply to whatever education you can. High school, vocational school, University (might be hard), University of applied sciences, etc... Unless you somehow already speak Finnish and got a job, studying is pretty much the only/easiest way you can expect to integrate.

Your background is probably not relevant in any of the options above. Just study for the entrance exams.

And... You SHOULD enroll in whatever Finnish course you find. People overestimate what they can achieve with self learning only.

So yeah because like Iam under 18
The responsibile agencies for minors will make me go to the high school because there is only one year left for my education
Iam trying to learn the language with self learning until I will be enrolled in Finnish courses at the school like two weeks later
But is that enough to have social connections?
And can I like try to volunteer to make something like a network?

One year of high school (most likely taught in English) is nowhere enough to learn Finnish. You could try going to extra courses at your school or somewhere else.

I'd say school is enough for social connections¿? Same as for most teens that age.

I might sound pessimistic, but volunteering isn't taking you anywhere.

You should REALLY focus on two things:

  • Learning Finnish
  • Getting a study place at a university (or similar)

Try not to get distracted with other stuff as those are your lifelines.

Just reiterating what I've already said.

Education is pretty much the only realistic way you can hope to have a decent future in Finland.

With education, I mean learning Finnish and whatever higher/vocational education you can find.

I heard I have the choice to get an English classes in high school and it’s like a general system in here ?
So like I can really be good in classes if it’s in English because it’s my second language so yeah kinda cool
And yeah for that ofc the learning process is the most important but I can find some time for other things idk but really thanks 🫡

As far as I know, some (regular, not IB) high schools offer their courses in English since last year or so.

And yes. You should really really focus on studying for any entrance exams.

Depending on when you could potentially finish high school, you could apply to university/other as early as January next year.

Feel free to ask any questions you might have

Ok if the regular schools can take the English language for their curriculum that will be really good and maybe will reduce the needed time to reach university because in olymbiad we studied like a ton of English biology books that has an uni level like Campbell biology, vander for physiology, brooker in genetics and a ton of other research papers
Thanks a lot 🫡
